Great staff

We had a nice stay. We were only passing through, needing a room for one night but the room was very clean and in very good condition. The bed was comfortable and had everything we needed. Free breakfast with eggs, potatoes, sausage, make your own waffles, plus all the other continental breakfast choices was great before checking out.

Good room price. Easy access from I81. Bathroom was very clean but the room could’ve been cleaned better. Rug was dirty. Rooms are nice but dated. Our room was not ready when we checked in at about 4:30pm. The desk clerk Alex was super friendly and accommodating and took care of us by moving us to the biggest double queen room in the hotel without raising our room rate which I had paid in advance. The hall way carpets are worn and filthy. It’s a bad look to start out with when you’re heading to your room. The new room was very spacious. Beds and pillows were nice, microwave and mini fridge clean. Nice TV. I utilized the checkout “early” option through Best Western on my phone, which offered the ability to skip the front desk when departing and choose a time from 6am-11am. I chose 11am and submitted it. I went to the front desk in the morning to drop our key cards just before 11am on my way out and the clerk said her system didn’t show us as checked out. It didn’t work apparently. The desk clerk was good about it and noted we were checked out in her system. Overall a good overnight stay. The area around the hotel location has everything you need, restaurants, a Kroger, nice liquor store, gas stations and other stores.

This is probably a situation that you get what you pay for. You pay for a lower end room and that's what we got. The air conditioning unit made noise all night and alternatively worked too well or worked not at all. The internet was extremely slow and would disconnect routinely. The shower was missing shampoo and only had half a bottle of conditioner. The breakfast area is incredibly cramped and almost impossible for multiple people to access at the same time. Eating area is extremely small. The bananas on the bar were rotten. The food variety was extremely limited. The hotel allowed a number of motorcycles to park in the drop off Lane which made checking in very difficult. On the plus side everybody we encountered that worked there was very nice and courteous.

Our family is EXTREMELY loyal to the Best Western brand. We plan travel routes around which BW properties are available. My parents had stayed at this location before and said it was nice. They were CORRECT! This location is easily accessible from I-81. The lobby is well-lit and the entire building smelled wonderful- not over-whelming, just very clean and fresh. Donnie was very friendly and efficient during check in. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets were lovely. The abundance of hot water, high level of water pressure and soft fluffy towels were greatly appreciated. The property was obviously full judging from the parking lot but it was quiet. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with a variety of choices. We are looking forward to repeat stays at North Roanoke. Added tip…eat dinner at Angelle’s Diner just next door - so delicious and affordable.
