Holiday Inn - Boone - University Area by IHG

Check in took forever because i had paid through 3rd party. Room was clean and comfortable. However night 2 came in to no hot water. Called desk and she said none til next morning. She could offer free breakfast . Next day no hot water in the morning. It was on that afternoon when we got back from work. Pool was closed. Lots of remodeling. Asked for sales manager. Each time we were told not available. Ww were going to extend our stay but decided to go somewhere else. Also privacy blind does not go all the way down. You have to block the window for privacy.

The property is in a good location

It is undergoing major reservations. We were is a room that had not been finished. We reserved a king bed w a sofa sleeper. We got a queen bed w no sleeper sofa. We paid a high pricing considering the state of things. We were out on a floor the was off limits due to renovations

Staff was excellent--polite, friendly and very helpful! Room was clean.

Hotel was unfinished! Grout still splattered across the bathroom. Walls were so thin that I could hear the person in the next room urinating, and you could hear toilets flushing from farther away than that. Hand soap dispenser in bathroom was so far to the right (and so high) that if you couldn't reach it from the sink, you had to squeeze between the toilet and the bathroom counter to reach it. Terrible carpet smell, no trim in the hallways, room numbers were printed on paper and taped on wall. Nearly $400 for room--small room with king bed very overpriced, even if hotel was in working order (which the pool was not). No info on website about breakfast except in reviews--reviews said you had to pay for it in addition to the nearly $400. Went to a fast food restaurant instead. We got robbed.

I could not find my reservation for this property for some reason in the app as I was driving over 5 hours to bring my daughter to college in Boone NC. It was late at night and I was starting to worry so I tried to call but couldn’t get anyone to answer. I then booked another reservation at another hotel because it was late and I didn’t want to get there at 1 am with no place to stay. A few days later, I realized a charge was made to my credit card so I immediately reached out to Expedia, I explained the situation and the trouble I had I ended up paying over $100 more at the other hotel so I would’ve gladly stayed at the Holiday Inn had I been able to pull up the reservation or get someone on the phone. Expedia tried to call them multiple times and had to chase the manager around to try to get someone on the phone only for them to be so insensitive to the situation and they were not willing to budge so I ended up paying $124 for a mistake that was not my fault and they refused to credit it back. I do not recommend this hotel, they are not customer first!!!!! There are many other decent hotels in the Boone area check their first!!! I will be traveling to Boone to visit my daughter, but I will not be staying at this hotel!!

Perfect location to campus. Super nice staff checking in and checking out.

When we arrived at 10PM, parking was an issue as a significant portion of the lot was being used for construction storage for work on an adjacent lot. The room we reserved a month ago was not available. Rate charged was more than advertised. But it was late and we were exhausted. Asked for extra towels and bedding (because we did not receive the room we reserved). Finally received them after midnight, requiring multiple calls and a trip to the front desk. Second night - same request and essentially same result. This time no one answered when we called and we decided to just go to the front desk and wait. People who worked there were perfectly friendly - just appeared understaffed and not overly motivated.

It was a nice hotel, the room was clean, my night was quiet. Due to nearby construction the parking was a little lacking. An i didn't realized when I booked that breakfast was not included.

Not clean, pool out of service, rooms smell bad. No breakfast free in the page don’t specify that if you want breakfast you need to pay for each person.

The hotel prices were inflated for App State check in. Then to arrive and see that the pool and Jacuzzi were out of order. No continental breakfast as stated in the listing. The property is under construction but if it had maintained properly it would have been more pleasant.
