No pool, under renovation

Rooms are nice. Expensive even though they are remodeling, half hotel under contruction remodel, and no lobby or pool or weight room.

The hotel and the attached restaurant was amazing! They’ve obviously done a recent renovation that looks fantastic. The view of the river was beautiful. I would travel to Missoula just to stay here again!

I have stayed at this hotel many times over a period of decades, but my recent three day stay made me decide to never return. First, to be balanced, I will point out a few good things about the hotel... Very pretty location right on the river. The University campus and Griz stadium are a short walk across the bridge. Rooms have been updated in the last decade, and are clean and comfortable. The staff, though severely dispirited by the terrible construction and management of the hotel are friendly and as accommodating as possible. The hotel restaurant has a lovely deck overlooking the river. Now the bad... Despite the website claim that makes the current construction sound minor - this hotel is under MAJOR construction. It is loud, and the flow of the entire hotel has been disrupted. You will find yourself trying to escape the noise walking through a maze of hallways, since many of the doors have been blocked off. I attempted to have lunch in the restaurant, and they were literally jack hammering twenty feet away. It was so loud everyone left the facility. The view from my room was a construction site, and work started at 6:30 am. This is an old motel (well over 50 years old), and the floors creak and wiggle. They recently began charging $20 to park in the crowded motel parking lot - which has outraged a lot of people. Despite the fact I took an Uber to the hotel, when I checked out they automatically charged me $60 for parking - and I am awaiting a credit. The staff is extremely frustrated, as guests are very unhappy when the arrive, and management is doing nothing to address the concerns. Many of the rooms they are renting are too near the construction (mine was directly adjacent), and should not be rented. Guests should be forewarned about the issues. The parking fee is a sad joke that adds more pain to a painful stay. Also, the staff is not being kept informed as to the schedule. I asked when the construction would be finished, and the staff member shook their head sadly and said, "I have no idea. They have not told us. Maybe by next year." Overall, I understand the need to update, but management is handling it very poorly, and alienating staff and customers.

Sadly the hotel was under construction so parking, check in, and navigating the hotel were all a little strange, but the room itself was lovely. We really enjoyed the river view balcony and the older vibe. We tried to have a late dinner in the restaurant attached (Finn) to the hotel but our server Rowan was incredibly rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. We actually chose not to order a second drink or dessert and cut our meal short because Rowan made it clear he didnt want to wait on us, as he continually checked on all the tables around us, but only ever brought us our meal and our check, and even that took forever. I would Ike to have known of major construction outside our window and yet we paid full price for the room.

Heat system did not work well at all.

Hello - we stayed the 26th-27th of July, so just one night - however. I booked a pool room - somewhere around the cost of $350 - there is a vast amount of construction going on - no one mentioned this or the fact that the pool was rubble - but yet I was charged full price - also the door leading out was completely locked so in case of an emergency where the hallway was compromised -we were locked in - the front desk was super nice and quick but no mention of the construction - it was very disappointing to be charged so much for an average room w a sad hair dryer. Disappointing! Construction dragging on and no recognition for loyal customer flexibility. Prices up, new parking fee, restaurant access still disrupted (no normal restroom, outdoor backdoor entrance) no lobby experience…. What will they offer their regulars who rode this chaos out? There was no advance notice regarding the construction when we first arrived as regulars; We initially thought, ‘ok, we will support our favorite…’. We were patient and kind; however, now with rate increases, continuing disruption, new parking fees (in big sky country?!) and zero loyalty recognition…. We have hosted many guests at the Finn both overnight and for meals, but we looking for new ideas for where to move on to. Employees said this situation may continue until January?
