Edgewater Missoula, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

(Actually a 2.5 bubble rating but no way to show that) We have stayed at this hotel for years while passing through town on our way to Yellowstone. We like the king river view rooms with a balcony. The pretty Clark Fork River is right in front of you, and you get a wonderful view of Mt Sentinel (with the "M") from your deck. Made our reservations in Jan 2025 and it was stated that there was complimentary self-parking. We were stunned to arrive and be told that the hotel instituted a $20 parking fee. In Missoula of all places! After rightfully protesting since our reservations clearly stated free parking, the parking fee was waived. No explanation given as to why this hotel has now added this fee, but we suspect one reason may be that they are undergoing $ renovations. The lobby area was completely closed off and access to the restaurant, Finn, is through a back meeting room and then outside past the deck bar in order to reach an interior door. It happened to be raining with a bit of wind the day we arrived, so having to walk outside by the bar was a bit annoying (the covered "roof" of the bar barely kept us dry). Our room was nearly $700, which is nearly $300 more for the same room last year! More like Hawaii prices than Montana, and with part of the hotel closed off, and parking fees, this hotel has become too expensive. In addition, our room's carpet had buckling down the entire center, creating a tripping hazard (which happened often). Maintenance needs to get that carpet stretched asap. The deck sliding door was quite difficult to lock and took several tries (we know how to do as we've been staying there for years). As a positive note, the staff was friendly and helpful, including the Finn staff. It is sad for us to even think about not staying here again while in Missoula, but the pricing has got out of hand.

We booked this hotel because it is one of only a few hotels with outdoor pool. We arrived and discovered the pool is closed for updates. We had Avery disappointed 8 yr old grandson.

Great location with river views—easy access to the river walk, shops, and restaurants made our stay at the Doubletree Missoula relaxing and convenient.

Under construction. Amenities are compromised. Pot smoke right outside our door. Drug use on the perimeter. Management offers little remedy. Do not stay here.

Very spacious room with a nice view of the river. Bed was comfortable, and the shower/bath was very spacious. Well kept and clean. In fairness, they have been in construction for a while and that's a bit of a negative. Only access to the river is through the restaurant or around the construction - a bit of a walk.

Contemporary feel

It's Summer - and it didn't explicitly say on the site that the hotel was under renovation and the pool was closed. We booked specifically for the outdoor pool.

Under construction, safety risk for my autistic child. No pool, no hot tub. Front desk manager is extremely rude and will notate customers accounts w rude comments and make dirty faces every time we walk thru the lobby. Very was beautiful, but to charge almost $500 for 1 night in a double queen room w no amenities is ridiculous, not even microwaves in rooms. Double charge bank account for hold and room charge totaling $903. Not everyone can afford that especially on last day of the trip, then told I have to wait until the bank credits it back. Should never hit the account 2 times w different amounts for 1 night. Worst Hilton ran hotel ever!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the sites and sounds of the river flowing next to the hotel and it’s proximity to the University of Montana campus. In addition, the restaurant had wonderful choices for happy hour and dinner. However, one drawback was the train horns blaring during the early morning hours.

Double Tree was a nice hotel near downtown and college.

Location next to the river. Good food and restaurant staff were great.

Key system was down. Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke. Not good value. More like a motel.
