"An Unforgettable Family Trip Thanks to Juan & Sebastian"

We just returned from an absolutely perfect family vacation at Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything exceeded our expectations. We booked through Costco Travel, which included airfare and transportation to and from the resort, and the value was incredible. The resort itself is beautiful, spotless, and incredibly well maintained. The food was AMAZING at every restaurant and there were activities happening throughout the day for all ages. My daughters are teenagers and loved it, but it also looked fantastic for younger children as well. The water park next door is such a great addition, and we also loved that there is an adults-only side for guests 18+. What truly made this trip unforgettable, though, was Juan and Sebastian, the concierge chefs. My daughters have severe food allergies, and as any allergy parent knows, traveling can be stressful. Juan and Sebastian completely changed that for us. From the very first meal, they personally took the time to understand every allergy and made sure my daughters felt safe, comfortable, and included throughout the entire trip. They checked in with us at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even snacks in between. They coordinated directly with the restaurants, customized meals when needed, and always went above and beyond with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. They never made us feel like an inconvenience — quite the opposite. They made my daughters feel special, cared for, and able to fully enjoy a vacation without fear or stress around food. Honestly, their level of attention and compassion is something our family will never forget. They are truly exceptional at what they do and are a huge reason why this trip was so meaningful and relaxing for our family. The service throughout the entire resort was outstanding, and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and helpful. This was honestly one of the best vacations our family has ever taken, and we would return again in a heartbeat. Highly, highly recommend!

"VIP lacks VIP service"

Perhaps my review will change upon checkout but day one definitely not 5 star treatment. I fully understood that early check-in is never guaranteed, but late check-in by the hotel is unacceptable. I didn’t receive a text that my room was ready until 4:30 PM and was then instructed to make my way to the VIP lounge. Once I arrived at the VIP lounge, I had to wait an additional 28 minutes for a bellboy. The overall delay in getting access to my room was unacceptable. I’m here for a wedding. Several members of our group who did not upgrade to VIP received their rooms well before I did, despite arriving after me. To add to the disappointment, the “ocean view” room lacks the experience that was advertised, as the majority of the view is of the resort itself, with only a distant view of the ocean while standing sideways. While the property itself is beautiful, the overall arrival experience have been extremely frustrating and not what I expected from a VIP upgrade.

This was our second time at this resort. We had a great time both times. Will definitely be back. All of the staff was amazing. Special shout out to Luis. He was available to assist whenever we needed and it was greatly appreciated.

"Simply—it was the perfect family all inclusive, without compromise!"

This was a 1st time family reunion to celebrate many birthdays. As the 75 yr old grandmother and host, I got to spend 6 days with my children and their families including 3 kids, 5 and under. We came from 3 distant cities and celebrated a totally relaxing, stress free time. Every single one of us LOVED it. The staff was genuinely warm and went above and beyond our expectations…from the housekeepers to the beach waiters to the reservation folks and the absolutely incredible staff at Republic Coffee. The 3 little ones loved the pool, sailing and kayaking with their dads, and always found wonderful things to eat at every meal. We expected to spend time apart, but we just loved being together there. The accommodations were perfect, and the kids loved the parties after dinner and movies under the stars. The adults did get a baby sitter and we ate at the “adult only” fabulous restaurants twice, at the adjoining Hyatt Zilara side. They loved the water park and lazy river. I loved that my kids hired a photographer on site so we could have fantastic photos to remember this incredible time. Yes, it was expensive but worth it. We’d love to return again and again, but I’m not sure what the finances will allow. We made memories to last a lifetime but I truly hope we will be back! It was a 10 out of 10!

"Illness and Reservation"

I was scheduled to go in May2026 with family but came down with an illness that was very contagious just 3 days before travel. I was suspect that I would get any help on a refund because all the deadlines had passed. I sent in my request for a full refund with doctor letter and supporting test results. I was pleasantly surprised as to the professionalism this was handled on a rather quick manner. They gave me a full refund. I feel so good about this experience and could not praise them more.

"One of our best family vacations."

We just returned from Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and had one of the best family vacations we’ve ever taken. The resort was at very low occupancy but it didn’t affect our stay at all — if anything, it made the experience even more relaxed, personal, and enjoyable. The food was excellent everywhere we ate. Mercado had a great variety and everything was fresh. Tempest’s Mongolian station was a standout, and our dinner at Chinola — especially the prime rib carved tableside — was unforgettable. A huge thank‑you to Raibel and Alfred from the entertainment team. They made our vacation fantastic. Raibel had us laughing all week — every time he saw my wife he’d yell her name like it had three extra syllables. It became a running joke for our whole trip. And Alfred deserves a medal — he risked his life teaching us archery, and somehow survived our aim. He made the activity fun, safe, and memorable. Special shoutouts as well to Wilson and Geremi, our regular pool servers. They took incredible care of us all week. One of my favorite moments was praticing my Spanish with Geremi while he did the same with his English. Small, genuine interactions that made the trip feel personal and special. Even with the low occupancy, service never dipped. We had full access to both Ziva and Zilara, no waits anywhere, and the entire resort felt like our own private paradise. This was truly one of our best family vacations ever. Highly recommend.

"Lots to love about our return family visit"

Second year in a row our family of 5 stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana. Everything was as exceptional as we remembered, although the sargassum situation was much worse and prevented much use of the ocean. The service remained top notch. Shout outs to Juan and Katherine, our Club host superteam for all of their help, and R(rrrr)aibel and Alfred were great motivators for activities. Raibel even taught us some Spanish in a "new word of the day" lesson! Moments (the sports bar) was a great spot to watch playoffs at nights and we enjoyed dining at Brando's twice so some of us could enjoy duck. While it did not seem too crowded, the "chairs savers" were in full effect as opposed to last year. Although there were plenty of non-prime seats available, the hotel seemed to not follow up on their posted sign of removing "space savers" that were idle for more than an hour. This would not prevent us from coming back but it was more noticeable and hopefully not a concerning trend for a premium priced property. Highly recommend the Club Level for warmer (and slightly clearer) pools, bringing a reusable mug, and metal/plastic straws to avoid using the paper ones.

"Pampered in paradise"

Second visit to Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana and we loved it! Family of 5, ages 20 to 58. Lots of dining options, we loved them all! We booked club level which was less necessary since it was not crowded, but really enjoyed Juan and Katherine and the club amenities. Shout out to Raibel and Alfred from the entertainment team!! I did water aerobics every day with them and they got my sons and husband to join in!! They came looking for us and we enjoyed our daily check-ins! My family loved them!! We also enjoyed the cocktail classes and watching the playoffs at the sports bar. Hotel was spotless and we felt very pampered. I cannot wait to go back!

"Great family resort"

First time stay at this resort 5/10-5/15. Overall had a great time. Total group was 16 - My immediate family was 4 (two toddlers 3.5yr & 9 months). We booked a club level grand master suite with butler. The room was a nice size, and our Butler Juan was responsive and made our stay more relaxing. We found the resort to be clean and well-kept, service/ amenities to be great, and food on par for this class of all-inclusive. Some of our party stayed at the Zilara and had an equally enjoyable time. My only complaint was the pool cabanas. We booked a cabana on our second day ($198) and felt swarmed by other guests on the sun ledge between the cabanas. The party at the cabana next to us shared the same complaint. Because of this, we booked two ($396) for the next day. Again, other guests with zero etiquette parked themselves in-between both cabanas. The pool is huge; there is plenty of free space...I don't get it. This leaves me, the one paying for an extra service, to leave the cabana area when I want to enter the pool. If I am paying for a cabana, the immediate space around it should be part of that. We frequently do cabanas at other resorts when we travel (namely beaches Negril and Turks and Caicos) and every time the experience came with chairs and area surrounding as well as a dedicated waiter/waitress.
