Roc Luxe Tulum

The property sits on a nice location but if you are expecting a hotel or resort stay then this is not for you. We had a rented car so we are glad the property had a few parking spaces. The shower is outdoors or at least the ocean front cabin was and the bathroom as well. This is more like camping with a/c and your private bathroom, which my husband and I don’t mind at all because we love camping but for the price for ocean front I don’t think it’s worth it. What really upset us was that they shut off the water pump at 9pm until 8am. So we couldn’t shower, flush the toilet or brush our teeth and had to go to the reception desk for help. They turned it on for us but the second night they did the same thing which I think is unacceptable for a hotel to do this. Another thing that they should clarify is that there is no WIFI signal in the cabins and hardly any in the reception area either. Lastly, our bed sheets smelled musty and not clean at all and we had problems with the toilet flushing. They did provide 2 bottle waters for us on both our days we stayed and clean towels- employees were nice and came right away to fix the toilet. I hate complaining but honestly for the price we paid I would not stay here again. I hope they read this and put a little more effort into their quality service and property because the location and set up is nice.

Less than a resort but more than glamping, this is a nice place to stay with basic amenities. Good: nice new fixtures and linen, big comfortable bed, good air con and fan. Lovely garden with birdsong and resident badgers. Friendly and helpful staff, though they did try to double charge us for local taxes that we’d already paid when we booked. Laundry service available. Small fridge in room (new, so not noisy) and two free bottles of water daily. Less good: nowhere to get breakfast or even coffee on the property, and no facilities to prepare food or coffee in rooms. WiFi works, but signal isn’t great inside rooms. Garden rooms have some road noise. No lockbox in rooms. Water in shower and taps is a bit salty, from an underground cenote. Beach was unfortunately pretty much unswimmable when we stayed due to lots of seaweed, but that’s not the hotel’s fault (the seaweed is seasonal) – swim in cenotes instead.

Tulum is the best ever. And I go every year for past 5 years in a row. Every year the sargassum seaweed gets worse and worse and the smell is absolutely nauseating -the only hotels that take care of it and clean it off the beach are high-end hotels at 4-5 hun a night. Take that into consideration when you think you're getting a deal and you can't sit on the outside on lil porch because the smell is so bad.

The beach is ruined. Had I known this I would not have paid a premium to stay on the beach. Also, the internet didn't work in my room which really messed up my plans with others and made things difficult with my office. The room was advertised as having internet. Also, the first night we were put into a room which is nothing like the picture. They moved us on day 2, but still, we expected what we were promised.

I loved my stay. Attentive staff and amazing facilities. The cabanas are really clean and you get all the privacy you'd like in a beach-front hotel. The beach is quiet. You can't hear anything from your room at night, I slept well. A great deal for a beach front cabana with A/C. It is a rare find in the area. The only cons I can think of is we had poor, almost non-existant wifi reception in our cabana. Also, this season is really bad for sargasso algae, and there were lots on the beach, but it's not their fault.

The place is simple and clean. The perfect place to recharge in nature. The room was great: good AC, no mosquitoes and very comfortable bed. We had one issue with water from the shower and the toilet not draining well but they will probably fix this soon.

Do uniqueness about this property you feel like we're right in the middle of the jungle but the front view is the ocean absolutely stunning.
