Pestana Collection Plaza Mayor

We paid for a Superior Deluxe room as a treat at the end of our road trip round northern Spain. The location was very central, and the courtyard was lovely. The pool on the roof, though small was very welcome in the late afternoon. We ate a lovely lunch in the restaurant as our room wasn't ready at 1:30pm. Sadly it wasn't ready at 3pm either which was disappointing.

The bathroom! Actually I don't think it was technically an en-suite as it was IN the room. No door! The washbasins are in the room. When you step out of the shower you are in the room. No privacy to get dried or dressed. The toilet is minuscule but is behind a glass door. The shutters in the photos do not move. Some people may like this arrangement but many people will prefer a separate room with a door. The photos on the website should be more clear. There are no accurate photos on either your site or the hotels site. Please improve this Bookings.com

The hotel was in the center of Plaza Mayor, a busy Madrid square with specific "Not to miss sites" all around. Yet it was quiet and peaceful in our luxury hotel room. The entrance was discreet and in the corner of the square where we always felt safe to go and come. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping refreshed the room several times each day. The bed was so comfy our afternoon siesta after a morning of touring was plush and welcome. Morning breakfast was a delight to the palate. We could choose from a display of cereals, breads, fruits, cured meats and cheeses, juices etc. or have a breakfast made to order. The service was quick and professional. The front desk staff was always alert to say hello as we entered.
