Pestana Collection Plaza Mayor

We loved many things about this hotel, especially the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff (eg they were great with taking charge of my husband's mobility scooter, giving advice on restaurants, directions etc.) The rooms were pleasing (my daughter in law, who suffers from insomnia, said the bed was the most comfortable ever!) The breakfasts were really excellent, though there were other restaurants better for dining and bars too. There was a balcony overlooking the Plaza with a great view of the stage for musical events, processions etc, in the fiesta of the first weekend, though the rooms themselves were surprisingly quiet, even through a pop concert. The square was very central and convenient walking distance from the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza, Reina Sofia, palace, parks etc. The weather was good enough for the rooftop pool! Good English spoken.

This hotel is fantastic! The location, the design of the rooms and hotel in general, the staff who were all polite and helpful, the breakfast, both pools. Really wonderful stay. The guest experience desk also made bookings on our behalf and they made you feel like it wasn't a hassle to do so Make sure you get a balcony room! The hotel also recommended one of our favourite parts of the trip: flamenco and dinner at Tablao de la Villa
