Hotel Playa Manglares Isla Baru

The property is very beautiful and Olga a great host

Our hotel reservation was made by our travel agent and we are extremely pleased with our stay at Playa Manglares . The property is spread over 7 acres of farm with few rooms . Hotel is run by nice couple and Olga was present from beginning to end . Our room was AC on the first floor with nice patio with hammocks . Food area was nearby and meals are made by loyal staff . Quality of food and service is very good . There is not much activity in Baru and everything is far but Olga will make reservation with reliable taxi people . We visited bird sanctuary which was about 10 minutes away and it was nice. Our experience for illumination tour in the evening was not that good as road had many potholes and boat area did not appear to be safe . But if you just want to chill out for few days and don’t want to go anywhere , you won’t find anything better than Playa Manglares .

Un posto bellissimo, gestito con amore da parte dei proprietari super gentili. La struttura é creato con grande attenzione alla natura, non c’è l‘aria condizionata, si dorme come le finestre aperte, la doccia é privata, ma all‘aperto. Una sistemazione molto particolare - a noi - nonostante siano soliti a scegliere strutture diverse - é piaciuto tanto. Unico neo, in questo periodo il mare non é caraibico e poco invitante. Inoltre c’è stato una festa nella villa accanto e non siamo riusciti a chiudere occhio fino alla 04.00 di mattina causa musica da discoteca a volume altissimo. Ma questo mi auguro non sia tutte le sere e la proprietaria non solo si é scusata - non avendo poi neanche delle responsabilità di quanto accade accanto - ci ha anche offerta la cena che del resto come la colazione era ottimo. Lo consigli? Si, per coloro a cui piace un posto eco, diverso dal solito e che sappia che tra maggio e ottobre il mare non é caraibico. Così almeno si ha la chiarezza di cosa si prenota per non aspettarsi una spiaggia caraibica.

Great location, private beach, easy to access other tour locations if needed, the food and staff were excellent and owners were very helpful setting up tours and transportation

I liked everything about the place, not for non-nature lovers

This place is just magical. I was able to meditate see nature unwind and feel like I was at home. For sure I will return back. The staff was exceptional. The food 5 stars.

Olga and the whole staff are so sweet, I really could feel at home there after such long flight. It’s the perfect place to disconnect from all the noise in Cartagena, and you feel immediately embraced and relaxed when you walk in

Wonderful and private. Free from hawkers and hustlers that you find on most beaches in the region.

- Excellent service from host and employees - Super accomodating with family and babies - Beautiful hotel grounds and rooms - Relaxed and clean - Totally recommended as a home base to get away from mass tourism and explore nearby locations

- The ocean water by the hotel is not the best, especially during rainy season, otherwise the beach is nice to relax, sunbathe and rest in hammock - This is not related to the hotel, but taxi drivers will try to rip you off at any cost. Ask and prenegotiate the proper trip cost.
