"Lovely Stay, awful food!"

6.0

The bungalows are super clean, the staff is very friendly, nice, and helpful it was a beautiful stay a very private place that doesn't allow people that are not guests to use the pool which is great. With that said, The pool needs maintenance, and they use to bring food from the restaurant next door "La Hola" I don't know what happened, but you are not able to do so anymore and the in-house food service is awful, portions are extremely small and overpriced. Breakfast portions were also very small, my 9-year-old son ordered a $6.75 "French Toast" breakfast that didnt even include orange juice or even fruit to make the dish look nicer, it was two slices of bread cutted in halfs (equals four portions) and thats it.

"What’s become of you?"

4.0

We’ve stayed at Tortuga Village numerous times but not in a few years so we’re in a rather unique position to comment. We wanted to see a sunset on the Pacific again and not rush back to the city so we got a bungalow for Sunday night. What a difference we experienced. That pool is absolutely filthy & It’s falling apart. Your front desk tells us “but it’s vacuumed every day.” Sorry (mis)management but you’re allowing your infrastructure to waste away. Drain that pool, conduct repairs, re-fill it with clean, fresh water and hire someone that will actually maintain it. In it’s present state I wouldn’t let my worst enemy swim in those foul waters. Ignore it any further and you’ll have a huge Koi pond. Then, after addressing that major shortfall do something about those nocturnal rats prowling around under the old thatch roof. They kept us up for awhile scratching away at the wooden dome. Strip & replace the thatch on every cabaña before a child is bitten. The room was very comfortable & we actually slept OK only to encounter another easily remedied issue in the bathroom shower. Your installed shower mixer valves Do Not mix. Your guests have told you repeatedly in these reviews that the user gets either very near boiling or cool ambient temp water from the shower head...there is NO in-between. If you’re not going to replace the control valves then do us a favor and simply lower the hot water temp and since you use instant hot water heaters for the cabañas the user will actually be able to stand under the warm shower stream. Who knows? You may improve your profits with a lower energy bill. Lastly, what’s with the the La Hola Beto’s menu cut-off? Every other time we stayed at Tortuga Village we could order a shrimp or lobster pizza and a bucket of iced down beer from La Hola’s...but not any more? Why is that? We see that you have your own containerized kitchen and they do serve up a nice breakfast but there’s no way your kitchen staff can compare to the menu (La Hola’s) that’s only a few meters away. This policy only limits your guests and that’s not good business.

"Terrible hotel"

2.0

I it’s a worse hotel actually a dump because a hotel will have running water won’t shake the all building when you turn around in the bed or walking. They have only hot or cold water and the water barely dripping cracks in the walls so all my clothing get wet because of the humidity next door dump we eat a pizza an we got Diarrhea and everything closed around 6 after that is nothing no food or drinks you need to drive. It’s not a four stars hotel it’s should be Demolish

"Couple's Holiday"

6.0

We stayed 4 nights at Tortuga Village and really enjoyed the property. Rooms or huts were kept very clean. Hot water came on and off, however this is a developing tourist area that is trying to cater to out of country visitors' needs. The front desk girls although friendly and quite nice, are not trained to deal with travellers'questions or concerns. The pool is a great feature and we spent lots of time there, but needs to be painted. Our bar tender at the Tikki Bar was awesome!! The price was wsy too high in USD if you book directly through the main office. If you choose this property go through Trip Advisor to get the best deal.
