Spencer House

We loved our stay at Spencer House. As soon as we booked, we were quickly sent lots of thorough information about the property, where we could park, and the different restaurants/bars nearby. The house was extremely well equipped, really clean and homely and all of the facilities were brilliant. The property is a short walk from York centre and so it’s the perfect base to explore. Similarly, it has its own little high street nearby with lots of shops, bars and cafes that were really great. We met Alistair as we were checking out and he was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed at Spencer House for New Year and we loved our stay and would definitely return. Thank you for a great way to start 2023!

Just a short walk away from the city centre, with a handful of local shops and super tasty cafes just round the corner. Super communication and infos from the hosts. Would definitely stay here again!

Location excellent, all attractions and restaurants within walking distance. Host very helpful. Essentials like tea, coffee, cleaning products and toilet rolls all provided. Very comfy beds and bed linen

Just small things like mirrors too high, not enough hangers for clothes, as one bedroom only had wardrobe not drawers, and although I do like information there were a bit too many rules and signs everywhere. Just a note for anyone with mobility or health issues there are two flights of stairs and the first one is very steep .
