Pinckney Bend Bed & Breakfast

Great view. Great hosts. Great experience .

We were very excited to celebrate my birthday and stay at Pinckney Bend B&B. The owners are nice and personable. The view was amazing. I want to give a good review, but simply can't. The room was so dirty we had to buy cleaners and give it a good scrub down before we could unpack. The carpet was covered in what looked like dog or cat hair. The bed (sheets and pillows) was full of hair, all varieties (head, chest, pube and animal) and stained. We bought sheets and blankets at Dollar General and remade the bed. Breakfast was decent, but we had eyelashes on our plate the second morning, so couldn't eat it. Completely disappointing after spending right at $400 for a 2 night stay. I know you are wondering why we would stay 2 nights of it was that bad? Well, I made the mistake of paying cash and had no recourse to getting my money back. We didn't want to ruin our weekend so just made the most of it.

(Pa)tricia Reay, after placing my reservation w/ Expedia, sent me an email stating I had to pay an extra $30 for my 3rd guest. I had a confirmation at the time for 3 people. We booked the Panoramic Cottage the bill states a specific total w/tax. She told us be we would be in the Fish Haus, she charges more for we latter found out from her personal website, not the Expedia one. We tried to discuss this extra charge /w Expedia they issued a certificate for future use. She said we could pay that extra fee when we arrived. Day before we were leaving to go there, she told me we would have an additional nominal cleaning fee of $20. At this point we could have stayed in a hotel because instead of paying the total on my reservation for one night we had to pay $54.99 more than our reservation total stated. We asked Expedia to put us in the Panoramic Cottage. Apparently, she does not own a cottage by that name even though that is how it is advertised. She told Expedia each room was exactly the same, if we did not want the Fish Haus we could stay in the other one as they were both available. (Wine Haus) because they were the same. They are not. Upon arrival we paid the additional money because at this point, I would lose all the money anyways. Only two dingy white towels in the bathroom. The shower door would not close all the way properly nor would the bathroom door. When we asked for more towels, she said there was one in the linen bag. The bathroom floor was clean, but the main floor was not. No curtains/blinds on the windows, sliding door or triangle windows. The other room guests could see right in if someone else stayed there.

The setting was amazing overlooking the Missouri River with the eagles soaring about. It was as quiet, peaceful, and relaxing as I could ever imagine. A great weekend get away !

Loved this property. Very great breakfasts and close to many local wineries and restaurants! Owners are very nice.

The setting right on the river is beautiful! Especially at night, we lucked into a full moon

Overall it was excellent, it listed WiFi internet but I could not find any available WiFi.

Very secluded

This was great from start to finish. Beautiful and cozy, Am looking forward to staying there again.

The view is amazing! The entire place is rustic and beautiful.
