Altnaharra Hotel

The location was great and so quiet. The hotel was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The staff were very obliging.

A very personal reason for our trip but we were supported throughout by extremely friendly and helpful staff. Our trip brought back very fond memories from previous visits several years ago. The hotel has retained much of its character but has been updated sympathetically over the years. Our room was large, comfortable and spotless with a very modern bathroom. Although somewhat noisy given the thin walls between bedrooms. The food was lovely and the hotel staff flexible in terms of customer choice of what and where to eat. The locals in the bar were friendly too. Initially the price seemed a little high, however, given the location, the friendliness, the relaxing atmosphere and the quality and price of the food it was actually good value.

A warm welcome, a comfortable and clean room and a very good evening meal. A definite for a return trip sometime.

Just what we were expecting from a hotel in the Highlands. Lovely old house, comfy sofas, open fires, lovely views on the loch and the hills. Really good food and nicely presented. Really wish we could have stayed longer, busy planning our trip back next year. Couldn't fault it.

Hotel set in stunning location. Quite remote but beautiful and a good base for visiting most of the Highlands. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food excellent.

Nothing unique but comfortable. The dinner was expensive but of poor quality - £26 for a steak that was at least half inedible unless you like gristle. I complained but nothing was done.

A pleasant place to stay if you are looking for a remote location. Food was good and service was fine. Perfect if you are cycling or fishing or looking to be alone.

It’s a nice hotel remote from just about anywhere. The room was okay but only had a storage heater so couldn’t get instant warmth, then in the night, too hot! Very expensive for what they provided i.e. a single room with no meals for £100. I didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. The hotel had an old world feel about it. I’d stay there again if it was cheaper.
