It's an older building, lacking A/C as many or even all buildings in Juneau however the windows in our room didn't open all the way, maybe only 4 inches. It was hot outside so the indoor temperature was unbearable day and night.

Convenient downtown location that allows for easy access to the capitol. Wide spacious room with plenty of space to stretch out. Breakfast is not included, but there is an attached restaurant with plenty of options. Overall, a great location to stay while exploring the downtown Juneau area.

Food was pretty good. Location was good.

Value for money. Very expensive for what I’d say is a 3 star hotel at best

Rooms were very hot during summer, no hot water for morning showers and hair ball in shower - so not a good experience

"I don't recommend the Juneau Ramada"

1.0

Where do I start? On a positive note, the desk clerks were nice and the room is very large. Yep, that's about it on the positive side. On the negative side, this Ramada by Wyndham is an absolute dump. Unfortunately, we arrived in Juneau during a heatwave (temperatures above 70F degrees). I had booked two rooms requesting, "the highest floor available and a harbour view." I hadn't noticed that the rooms I booked were designated "lower floor." What "lower floor" means is actually the first floor, which is in the basement, down stairs, no elevator! Because of some disaster that befell one of our rooms ours was upgraded to the second floor. My kids and grandkids spent the night in the basement. By the way, I booked our room for three nights. After the desk clerk explained what 'lower floor" meant, and that there were no other rooms available, and after helping my kids downstairs with their luggage, we went to our room. It was absolutely sweltering. The room has a western exposure with full sun. There is no air conditioning. They do provide a fan, but the windows only open about three inches. The room stayed unbearably hot until late into the night. Everything is very tired and is in desperate need of a major refresh. The bathroom cabinets are disintegrating; the toilet is the small round type which is very uncomfortable; paint is pealing off the walls in the bathroom; there is only one outlet by the beds, with two USB ports; there are no sheer curtains so we could open the heavy blinds to let more air in; they provide two small cheap soap bars; the lighting is oddly placed and harsh; and the room was generally dingy. The main takeaway is to check with the property to find out what vague terms mean in the booking information. The rooms I got were definitely not what I expected, especially with a higher Booking.com rating. This is the first major disappointment I've experienced booking through that site.

"Practical, but uninspiring hotel for overnight stop over pre-cruise."

8.0

Convenient location for walking around the small town of Juneau and along the inlet.

The hotel felt a bit tired/out-dated. I was on the lower ground floor and there was no lift, so luggage had to be manhandled up and down the stairs. (help was offered).

"Avoid this hotel! The worst."

1.0

N/A. Left at 5 am.

Everything! Worst hotel stay. First, the front staff was great (Jessica, etc.). However, we asked for early checkin and received a room (102) that was pet friendly, and had not been properly cleaned. The floor had obviously not been cleaned (new white socks were black after a few minutes on the pet friendly hardwood floor). The only light into the room was thru the garage. No elevator to that floor. Then we left a wake up call for 4:30 am. Got the call at 4:45 ("I got busy and forgot"). We know Juneau is a frontier town, but that is the most run down hotel. Not up to Ramada standards. By the way, after complaining about paying $40 for early arrival to a dirty room, the manager, Jessica, said they had no way to credit that back to us. All this speaks poorly of the Ramada chain.

"Nice staff, but Wyndham doesn't care about clients staying at their hotels."

6.0

Hotel had great check-in staff and is in a wonderful location. Easy to walk around Juneau and see things. Room was nice and bed was comfortable.

So the hotel didn't have hot water and got it around 10pm that night. Wyndham should have some type of discount for people staying there that night, but I got charged full price. Not having hot water is a big deal issue and taking cold showers is not a lot of fun. My score would have been higher at a 9 because I liked the hotel, but I couldn't overlook not having hot water and charging that much money. I don't blame the check-in staff as they were great, but this is a corporate issue and above their pay grade. Does Wyndham even care about such things? Based on what I saw, the answer is no. This is sad, because the hotels I stay at in Bulgaria and Greece go out of their way to fix things when there are any problems and take care of their clients.
