Disgraceful. Filthy, disgusting and dirty. That’s both their apartments and management. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I urge you to do your research before booking with them. I will try to keep this as short and concise as possible. I travel all over the USA and Canada in varying standards of accommodation for at least 6 months out of any year and can honestly say I have never experienced anything as bad. I urge you to please do your research before booking on both the company (simply comfort suites) and also the building (Dundurn Lofts). There were too many issues to mention but I will outline the main ones below. 1. Disorganised Check in. We were made to wait in the lobby for 30 minutes without hearing from anyone before being provided with the apartment access details (even though we arrived at exactly the time that was agreed). 2. We then walked into an unlocked dirty unit with many many things broken, cheap and basic furniture in. The L shaped sofas in the units are particularly uncomfortable and the beds/bedding cheap and nasty. Not what you would expect from the photos. The whole apartment was grubby with the bathroom covered in pubic hairs and the toilet including seat clearly not having been cleaned before our stay. 3. Generally there is a strong smell of marijuana and cigarettes throughout the communal areas of the building which is not ideal to those non smokers. 4. When you book you think the apartment will look remotely like the photos that are on booking.com but this is not the case at all. In our unit for example the sofa was facing in completely the opposite direction of where the TV was positioned making it impossible for more than 1 or 2 persons to watch the tv at any one time. 5. A few days into our stay there was a flood in the bedroom which was caused by a faulty AC unit (that the Maintenence man confirmed that Simply comfort knew about before renting the unit to us). This flood resulted in my suitcase which was directly below the water outlet being completely drenched. My apple laptop was damaged (costing me $400 to fix along with the inconvenience of having to clean all my clothes) at the same time as the flood the AC stopped working. 6. Following the AC not working we requested to be moved as we were unable to continue staying in the unit (during a time the temperature was 30 degrees c outside). It took Simply comfort 4 days to move us apartments which I think is unforgivable. We were unable to stay during this time and had the cost of paying for alternative accommodation until the new unit was ready. The whole finish of these apartments is so bad. It really is a cowboy builders paradise. I did feel so sorry for the maintenance guy working there for simply comfort as he was rushed off his feet dealing with the whole place falling apart. 7. No apology was ever made for the inconvenience or damage caused. 8. I made them aware that I would be taking my complaint further through legal channels and booking.com and then checked out. 9. They have subsequently very conveniently accused me of stealing a tv costing $450 without any proof at all. Their reasons for doing this are so transparent. I absolutely did not do this. I travelled directly to the airport to fly to the US and would have had absolutely no interest in stealing a cheap (like everything about Simply Comfort… including their awful support staff). 10. It may look like a good deal and also look pretty in the pictures but please trust me and the many others who have taken the time to tell you about how bad this company and these apartments really are. The fact is that these apartments should not be rented out to guests with Simply comfort knowing that the AC does not work in a time of the year where it is very much needed.

I had a great time at this apartment. I came here for business travel and as soon as I saw it, it looked splendid. The building is beautiful inside and out. The place is situated in a good location, making it very easy to get everywhere you need in the city. The rooms are equipped with everything one needs to feel comfortable and welcome; they are clean and are properly disinfected. The parking is next to the building and it is very easy to find a free spot. The staff is beyond great. They always check up on you and are ready to assist anyone who needs help. I lived on the third floor, apartment with huge graffiti on the wall. Suite equipped with everything you need for stay. TV, washer, dryer, free wi-fi, cable tv, beddings, toiletries. Staff responded always very quickly, there was a few issues but they helped fast. Parking is free, but during the winter may be some difficulties with finding parking spots due to the snow. I recommend to contact with a host a few days before your check-in, because they ask ID, some weird questionnaire regarding covid-19 and a deposit.

With expectations of a decent place to stay for work , I found the unit clean ,but that was IT.!!! Apon arrival the stove did not work , the tv was an issue .When I had time to hit the shower there was NO HOT WATER !!!!! A guy who came about the other issues came about the water . He said it was water heater and it was hot ,only if your from somewhere else , maybe the artic . thought it was a decent place and price got burned !!!!!
