"Highlight of our trip to Tunisia"

Fantastic stay in Camp Mars - so unique and the scenery is just spectacular.

The facilities are basic, but that's the point!

"Great stay, thank you."

10.0

The staff were all very friendly and even with the language barrier about times were clearly keen to make stay as pleasurable as possible. Remember to take a torch as the tents have no power or candles. This is to be expected by most at this type of property, but it might help someone. Some people compare the stay other desert camps - it is not a luxury stay, but it is a pleasant one and if you throw yourself into the experience you'll love it. I've stayed overnight in wadi rum and while not as polished, this was every bit as enjoyable. Our driver for the transfer was friendly and clearly speaks three languages to most people's one. The bar/restaurant staff speak mainly French and Arabic with a little English and I believe some German. If you go in with some French or some humility you'll enjoy your visit.

The transfer cost should be put into the booking up front rather than in the additional details. Make the cost clear from the outsetnand that the transfer is an absolute must. Clients will see the value up front!

"Very comfortable camp!"

9.0

Very nicely made camp site - of the desert camps I visited this was the most comfortable one. Very friendly staff, good food, perfectly clean (more than most other normal accomodations we stayed at). We very much appreciated how good care they seem to take for the 3 camels that were there. Communication about the driver, price etc. was transparent (it was possible to share the drive with other guests and divide the price).

A bit pricy compared to camps in Jordan or Morocco or other accomodation in Tunisia. But understandable considering there is not many camps there, location is really remote.

"Unique desert experience"

10.0

What an amazing adventure. We were picked up by a driver provided by Camp Mars from a hotel in Tozeur, where we could leave our rental car. You drive almost 3 hours deep into the Sahara and there it is. A large tent where you will be served dinner and breakfast and several tents to sleep in. Our tent had two beds and its own bathroom. However, we used the shared bathrooms, since they had flushing toilets and running water. In the tents you have to make do with very limited water. The dinner was great, the staff were friendly but the location is absolutely unbeatable. This was our first time in the desert and the experience was unique. The dunes around the camp are stunning, the starry sky was absolutely incredible and just sitting in front of a fire in the middle of the desert was a unique experience. I cannot recommend it enough!

It got very cold during the night but you are provided with several blankets. I would, however, not go to sleep without some kind of pullover on. Also the toilets in the tents might not be up to everyone's liking.

"Amazing stay in the Sahara Desert"

The location. Oh, I've never been so far into the desert. This was magical!

I found it a little bit overpriced, but it was surely worth it!

"the night under a million stars"

10.0

Unique experience - the night under a million stars. Location in the middle of absolutely nothing. 100km from Douz. The camp can help you organize a transfer and during the transfer you can also experience different views of the Sahara. Additional paid dinner is very tasty.

Note: it's not complaining, it's just a warning for those who are looking for 5-star all-inclusive hotels with a pool. If you have a looking for all-inclusive - you are in the wrong place. This is a Camp in the Sahara desert, so do not expect a pool or hot shower. Leaving with a drive at 9am might not enough to experience Sahara a bit more - if you need more time - consider staying here for two nights.

"Unique experience in the Sahara"

9.0

The location in the Sahara is superb! The sunset from the dune is beautiful and the tents are very comfortable. The camp is a relaxed place and diner and breakfast are well arranged (note: you have to book diner separatly). They arranged a very nice driver who speaks very well English. Note: you have to book the private driver separatly also. All was a great experience.
