The Whitney Hotel Boston

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Room was exceptionally clean. A great location, in walking distance to Boston Commons, North End, TD garden. Would stay here again

Hotel is in a great area - Beacon Hill. Very historic and village feel. Still easy access to everything you want in Boston on foot or by subway.

Das Hotel vermittelt eine sehr nette Atmosphäre, das Personal war äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Zimmer/ Betten sehr gemütlich. Obwohl das Hotel an einer Kreuzung liegt, hat man den Verkehr nicht gehört.

Es gab immer irgendein Geräusch, entweder die AC oder gluckerndes Wasser in einem Rohr.

I stayed at the Whitney Hotel during my business trip to Boston in March 2026. I was attracted by the location and previous customer reviews on Google, Tripadvisor and Booking.com. Here are my key takeaways: 1) The hotel is fresh, modern and stylishly decorated. Beds are comfortable and water pressure is decent. All basic things work well. Nothing looks worn out or outdated. Linen, bathrobes etc. are of high guality. Everything is clean. Complimentary cookies, fruits and ginger ale on each floor are a nice touch. Location is excellent to explore Boston and Cambridge. 2) There is a hospital nearby, and the hotel sits at a busy crossing next to a metro station. Despite quality soundproofed windows, you will hear sirens and traffic/train noise in the room. 3) Central heating unit on the attic of the hotel (new building) makes a low, vibrating noise that is impossible to block with earplugs. I stayed in top floor right under the unit at room 518. Maintenance was able to locate the source, but they could do nothing to the noise itself. 4) Fitness room is tiny and in the basement/1st floor. During my 4-night stay, two out of four work-out machines were unable to connect to the hotel wlan, and hence did not work. Staff was not able to solve the issue. 5) In addition to the actual room bill, the hotel made an extra charge to my credit card that was not supposed to be there. I noticed this a few days after the visit, and the front office quickly solved the issue. Conclusion: the hotel seems like a solid 4-star establishment but for my liking it turned out to be overrated. Front office staff is friendly but do not reach the level of truly exceptional hotels, and more importantly, often lack necessary mandate to make decisions. Frankly, I expected more based on previous reviews, two Michelin keys, and price (500USD per night for a standard room).
