Butterfly Mountain Lake Side

We had a very warm welcome from the hosts.They were all very friendly and tried their best to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast was good as well as the dinner. The view from the room terras is just stunning. You can see Adams Peak as well. A lot of birds around which were nice to watch. Hatton and Gatmore is not far by tuktuk either. We booked via Pick Me and got a good price. But make sure to aline (price and destination) with the driver before you leave. We had some misscommunication.

Lovely staff and great food. It’s a very affordable and nice, local experience.

Extraordinary place with fantastic owners and views. Big + for fantastic, local food. That was the only place we drank a good coffee and we ate fantastic dishes. Please, do something with the lake! It's beautiful! It's more interesting than Adam's Peak. Buy some kayaks!

Location of hotel was great for view of lake and Adam’s Peak. Not much to actually see in Maskeliya itself and very few eating choices there as well. We ate each night at accommodation and the meals were great. The included Sri Lankan breakfast each morning was also very tasty with huge servings which kept us going all day. The owner and staff were all very friendly and hospitable. Our room was clean and comfortable even without air conditioning.

Getting to and from Maskeliya is a mission. Although very scenic, the roads in and out are quite windy, rough and busy so very slow going in either tuk tuk or car. Smoke in Sri Lanka seems to be a huge problem as all waste seems to burnt especially in the evening so there is always the smell and haze of smoke no matter what time of day.

It was a beautiful and serene place but if I had anything I didn’t like it would be the school next door was pretty noisy for such a peaceful location.
