Naxian On The Beach - Adults Only

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September. We rate it 3.5 stars. 5 stars for the excellent cocktails and perfect location onPlaka Beach, 4 stars for overall service, breakfast and food in the restaurant and the helpful and kind staff and 3 stars for the room and facilities. The rooms were called suites and also called “bohemian” or “minimal” but for us they were sparse and barren with few basic amenities like places to unpack your clothes or toiletries. The safe did not work, water pressure was poor for the rain head shower and the shower was in the jacuzzi tub that was a treacherous deep step to get in and was not very clean. We loved the location and veranda over looking the beach but not sure we would stay here again.

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful from the start. After our flight was delayed due to heavy winds, the staff went above and beyond by welcoming us for a late check-in close to midnight, even though the desk normally closes much earlier. Their kindness set the tone for the whole stay. The property couldn’t be better situated directly in front of the beach, with what seems like ocean views from every room. The beach club is a highlight: crystal-clear water, plenty of lounge chairs for guests, and a vibrant yet not overwhelming atmosphere even when non-hotel guests visit. It’s also a perfect base for exploring Naxos, whether you want to rent a car to explore the island or stay put and enjoy the resort. Restaurants and grocery stores are just a short walk away, adding to the convenience. If there’s one drawback, it’s that the rooms could use a little refresh. The potential is there for this to be a true 5-star property. The staff, location, and beach setup already feel A+. A bit of TLC in the rooms would elevate the entire experience, and I’d happily pay a premium for it. Overall, an incredible stay that exceeded expectations, and I would absolutely return.

We were looking for a hotel right on the beach after deciding we wanted to stay at Plaka Beach and were fortunate enough to find Naxian on the Beach. We arrived in Naxos by ferry and had transportation set up to the hotel. Upon arrival we “checked in” at the hotel bar and were greeted by the manager and received a welcome drink and he took time to explain the hotel and local restaurants and other helpful info. We had an upper room with jetted tub and the room was great and clean. The hotel is right on the beach and has cabanas right at the beach we were able to use on beautiful Plaka Beach which wasn’t as crowded as other beaches. The onsite restaurant Tortuga had friendly staff and the food and drinks were wonderful and could also be ordered at the cabanas. One night we also made a short walk to Petrino’s restaurant for dinner and the bus stop and convenience store were close by as well. I would stay at Naxian on the Beach again.

The beach and restaurant were great but very disappointed with the room. Not at all like the photos, very tired needs upgrading. Definitely not 5 star. Bathroom really needs to be updated, smell of sewage was constant. Air conditioning didn’t work well either.

Naxian on the Beach is a great property right on beautiful Plaka Beach. It is an intimate hotel offering 10 very nice rooms with balconies overlooking the Aegean Sea. The hotel restaurant and beach service are also excellent! A great full breakfast at the Tortuga restaurant is included in the room rate and is really good. The Tortuga restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner. We had dinner at Tortuga our first night and it was one of the best meals we had on the island. The beach facilities are also wonderful. They have very nice beach cabanas right on the beachfront and prompt, attentive beach service for setting up our cabana, food, and drink. They reserve a cabana for each guest and it is also included in the room rate. Plaka Beach and the Aegean Sea at the resort are stunningly beautiful. There are also many restaurants and bars we were able to walk to along the beach when we wanted to explore more of the beach scene. When we wanted to go into Naxos Town (which is very nice) the island bus stops at the mini-mart a very short walk from the hotel. You buy bus tickets at the Mini-Mart for €2,20 but must have € as they won’t take cards for bus tickets. It’s an easy 15-minute ride that drops you off right in town. The return trip is also very easy and the driver kindly dropped us off right in front of our hotel. As wonderful as the property and amenities are at Naxian on the Beach are, the people at the hotel made our visit special. They are so warm and attentive. I would love to call them all out by name but would hate to forget to mention any of the very special people at Naxian on the Beach who made our visit one we will always fondly remember.

Beautiful location, right on the beach. Very relaxing environment. Rooms were nice and as advertised. Staff were extremely friendly and happy to give recommendations and to a book rental car for us. Food at the restaurant was delicious. Would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed our stay at Naxian on the beach. After the craziness of Mykonos, this was the perfect serene, relaxing atmosphere we were after. Though we were told the first half of August it was very very busy as this is the time Greeks take their summer holidays - so take note of this tip! There is no reception, but we were greeted at the bar with complementary welcome drinks and our luggage whisked away to our room. The room was spacious and bohemian in decor, really lovely with a balcony and plunge pool with jets. It also had strong air conditioning which was very welcomed after a long day in the hot sun. The beach is across the street from the hotel and sun beds are free for hotel guests. We were told there was service from the sun beds, but we got there a bit later in the day so I don’t think there was as much activity going on and we only saw someone when he was telling us it was last call. We stayed on the sun beds until sunset two nights in a row - it was too magical to miss! There are great restaurants within walking distance and we chose to eat in the hotel one night and got the catch of the day - it was excellent. The breakfast was made to order (no buffet) and superb, the coffee was strong. Service is slower, but this was fine as we were not in a hurry and enjoyed the leisurely meal. On our last morning we had to catch an early ferry and the kitchen kindly made us up some yogurt and granola to go. Getting around Naxos and into town is easy - just take the No. 9 bus which stops about a 5 min walk from the hotel and drops you in town / near the port. Runs every 30 mins. We used this often as it was €2 each way pp vs. €25 for a taxi. Overall, Naxian on the Beach is an excellent spot and we were so sad we had to leave it - highly recommend!

Charming boutique hotel right in front of the ocean. The rooms are great, the staff is incredible and the location is unparalleled!!! Will definitely be back!
