Panda Stay Okayama

This was a great find: a tiny house amongst the high rise buildings that really felt like a cosy home. The beds were really comfy and the kitchen & washing machine so useful to long term travellers like us. It’s nice not to do hotels all the time.

The bathroom and toilet need heating and/or better insulation; it was very chilly in March. The stairs are quite steep and could be dangerous for children or elderly people. Apart from that, it’s an absolute gem and a great price. We wish we had stayed longer.

The hostel facilities are complete, including the heater. The beds are comfortable to sleep. It's great the host provide us with the simple seasoning, bowl, cup and plate etc. in the kitchen.

The shower room lacks some hooks to catch cloths.

Nori was a great host meeting us at the property. Easy communication via Booking app and presented us with various options in an information book during the stay. Great location and easily accessible with public transport.

Everything was great.

Room is super clean and with washing machine and dryer. Very convenient

Bed sheets too rough, Staircase too steep

The host met me personally to pass me the keys, it was a nice and friendly touch. The place is not big but very comfortable, and we could also do our laundry! My personal favourite was the bed, it was SUPER comfortable, I had a really good sleep. My kids were enamoured by the thoughtful panda decorations throughout the house.

No complaints from me!

OVERALL IMPRESSION - We enjoyed staying in this apartment, and would recommend it to friends. ESPECIALLY APPRECIATED - Very good instructions about the Apt. and lots of local guidance. Well equipped and clean. PROBLEMS WE HAD - None ACCURACY OF LISTING AND PICTURES. The pictures were very accurate COMMUNICATION WITH HOST - Very good. We were met at the apartment and had any questions answered. DIRECTIONS TO APT - Were provided but not clear how to get out of station. Got help from Tourist Info. If we did this again we would just use G. Maps Directions We walked from the Station to the Apartment ACCESS TO APT. Good - ground level. Quite good stairs up to bedrooms LOCATION - Close to bus stop. Frequent service. Reasonable walk to Supermarket and even train station IS APARTMENT RENOVATED AND MODERN - Yes CLEANLINESS - Very good NOISE - Some traffic noise, but not intrusive. SPACE - Good - not at all cramped KITCHEN - Very good and well equipped BATHROOM AND TOILET - Bathroom sink is in living area, this was not ideal. Modern toilet and very good Japanese style bath HOT WATER - Good A/C - Worked well, both cooling and heating SEATING, TABLE, COMFORT – Good. Has table and chairs in kitchen and futon couch upstairs BED – Comfortable WIFI, POWER PLUGS, USB PLUGS WiFi worked well. Sufficient power plugs, no USB plugs LOCAL INFORMATION IN APARTMENT - Very good, lots of info. LIGHT AND VENTILATION - Bright modern lighting and opening windows. HINTS AND TIPS - There is a good smaller supermarket about half way to the station at the back of the plaza with the trees

It was strange having the bathroom sink in the living space, but we appreciate that it made lots of room for the wet room / Japanese bath. Some street noise, but not really bothersome.
