Wild Coast Sun

Despite being assured when we made the booking that access to the water pack is included in our package we were made to pay for access to the water pack very disappointing, hotels dotcom gave us incorrect assurance

We have stayed at the Wild Coast Sun many times over the last few years. Largely, we have been quite satisfied with our rooms, service, meals and entertainment. The breakfast at Chico's is always good with a large variety of dishes on offer to satisfy all tastes. I do always struggle to get coffee though! Big negative for this recent stay was the lack of porter service from the car to reception. We were dropped off outside the main doors with our luggage and were refused help by the porters who stated that we must be booked in before they would help us. My daughter and I had to carry our luggage into the hotel and find a spot to dump everything so that my hands were free to join the long queue at reception. (Note: I had booked and paid for my room more than a month in advance.)

The hotel is tired looking-decor is old and outdated. The front reception staff is not very friendly. The cleaning of our rooms were terrible-carpets not vacuumed nor bathroom cleaned. We need a security guard will n I he beach to enjoy the wild coast

Hotel needs a total revamp. Very old. Beds are very bad need to replace them. Very less options for dining

The water park was amazing

Extra charges for each and every activity. Water park entrance is NOT included in the price. You have to pay extra. Lifts rarely work Room was small and cluttered Feather/ lumpy pillows limited number of fast-food vendors. Very few healthier options. Check-in process is a fiasco. Zero information is given during check in The lounge hairs at the pool areas are half broken Not enough rubbish bins Aggressive monkeys terrifies guests The poolside bar is mostly unmanned, yet they feel obliged to discourage guests bringing their own drinks to the pool area. The child care/entertainment is non-existent, unless you wish to pay for a babysitter. (Comparatively, The Estuary Hotel included a huge indoor play area near the pool, which is safe and has controlled access.) WiFi connection in room is unstable TV channels are limited. There are zero child appropriate channels (Cartoon Network included) Unreliable room service. (some days we got towels, other days not. We could not make use of the telephone because the line is unclear. We were told we couldn't order food over the phone, and thereby were forced to buy from the fast food kiosks.) The coffee/tea in the room cannot be used, because they give you 500ml of water per day, if you are lucky. The box frame around the bed is much too big for the space available, as well as the beds itself.

Amazing holiday, check in took a while however the hotel has good facilities.

Not so good. No assistance with luggage, beach was a mess, water park not open, equipment in room did not work, they were painting and fixing rooms close by ours and the fumes gave us headaches, bookin and accommodation services were poor. Shopping centers close by was filthy, food sold at Steers were inedible, fish away portion sizes were tiny, Spur burnt the steaks. Overall poor rating.

We booked for 5 nights but only stayed for 4. Service is bad such a shame coz stayed there before. Wil never go back to the wild sun.
