Days Inn by Wyndham Novato/San Francisco

Close to neighborhood in Novato where family lives.

Tired property that needs reinvestment. Initial room assignment was for a room that had not been made up. Shower head was loose and lost water pressure. Costly for what it was.

Loved location and room layout.

Lighting. Work area pretty dark. I had to buy a lamp.

The price was good, all things considered. They did have plenty of parking and it was right off highway 101 on our drive. All in all, it was a "port in a storm," but certainly not remarkable or memorable.

It was basically a fairly old-school motel with a name-brand hotel chain overlord. Free breakfast was advertised, and it was free, but hard to call it a breakfast. It amounted to coffee/tea and packages of instant oatmeal and/or Kirkland breakfast (granola?) bars. The one person behind the desk seemed in charge of the entire facility and based on their overall attitude, didn't get paid enough and probably didn't deserve what they were paid. There seemed to be peculiar people walking across and through the property that just didn't match the typical traveler profile. Not sure what was up with that, but it did make us a little uneasy.
