The Westin Great Southern Columbus

Beautiful lobby, easy check in, friendly staff throughout our stay. Nice classic hotel vibe. Smallest (tiny, really) hotel room I have stayed in during the past 200+ hotel stays. Think New York mid-town small … But, really comfortable bed, nice (large) TV, good shower with lots of hot water, and valet parking prompt re car pickup. Good location. Lots of great restaurants and sites to see within a mile walk. Fantastic (included) breakfast! Note: My son is a Titanium member and I am a Platinum member. No real acknowledgment of our brand loyalty apart from the tiny room.

Price was more than double a traditional stay ($480+) for 1 night, internet did not work which meant I couldnt watch the shows on the streaming channels, and the regular shows were uninteresting, the phone inside the room did not work which meant i had to call the front office via my personal phone for the internet issue that when the maintenance man came is how i found out about the no internet, the staff isnt communicating with eachother so that the guests are informed. Had to pay to park to stay at a place i paid to stay at ($35 a night for parking). I found out there was a wedding event only after i arrived with a non refundable reservation. Definetely will not stay at these hotels in the future and will instead downgrade hotel expectations to avoid.

Very poor experience. Room was not ready at check in time, which should have been a sign, but we were confident in the Westin name. Once in the room, it still should not have been deemed “ready for occupancy” We found someone’s (obviously) dirty thong underwear under the bed, and a used feminine hygiene product in the bathroom trash can. It is clear that cleanliness is not high on their standards. We requested to be contacted by management but considering we checked out over a week ago, I doubt that is going to happen. If management can’t be bothered, why should the staff??

Beautiful restored historic hotel. Room was small-ish as you would expect from an older hotel. Bathroom was tiny. Pros: location, friendly and helpful (for the most part) staff. Breakfast was good—friendly staff, quick service, delicious food. Cons: had to ask for washcloths, a bath mat and hand soap, as there were none in the room when we checked in. Bathroom sink faucets leaked. Went to the front desk in the morning to ask for change to leave tips and was told they had no cash. Suggested we go to the adjacent cake shop and buy a cup of coffee to get change. Really? At a $300 a night hotel? Come on! Think we’ll stay elsewhere when we’re next in Columbus.

My stay was solo . 614 funk fest it was amazing

Just fair. Hotel is old, nothing special.

This hotel is very outdated and needs a lot of work. Renovations need to be made. Old furniture, stained carpet, musty, smell in the lobby, and stained bathroom towels. Poor customer service. I requested extra towels at check-in. Was told that they would be brought up to my room that afternoon. Got back to my room at 9:30 that night and there were not any towels. Had to call again. I waited an hour. Then I called again. It was now 1130. Was told she was the only person at the check-in desk and she would get up to the room as soon as she could. got our towels at 11:50 PM. They were warm like they just came out of the dryer. And they were damp. Absolutely disgusting. I would never stay here again. this is also a very sketchy neighborhood. Right across from a public bus stop. Buildings were abandoned. Definitely did not feel safe walking into this hotel.

I was not informed that there was no parking without additional fees of $40-120. I even asked specifically about the parking and the receptionists was vague and unhelpful.

Close to the rib fest

Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, nicely newly renovated rooms. Staff was pleasant and professional.
