Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa

It was very clean and well run.

Because of limited mobility I found it hard to navigate the distance between our room and the lobby and restaurants.

This is the 3rd year in a row that we stayed at Marriott Sawgrass. The service this year is simply the worse and we will not be returning in the future. Valet never helped unload our luggages. Per reservations, we paid in advance for connecting rooms but once there were this was not honored. The service is extremely slow. The rooms were old, and the bathroom had mold. It's really a shame what has happened to the hotel operations over the years.

This is one of those very overpriced, out-of-date hotels that has a monopoly in the area b/c of the golf course. The hotel is way out-of-date and needs to be upgraded. Going to an event here was terrible. Hotel oversold rooms!! We arrived at hotel to be told we had to go to another hotel. After seven hours of travel. Sleeping rooms have minimal lighting in the rooms. One sconce next to one side of king bed. The lobby bathrooms were filthy and towels on floor for two days on a leak in lobby bathroom. Food is hotel food that tastes like cardboard. Front desk is simply clueless. This front desk really needs training or minimal training The current room rate for this hotel is $560. The quality of this hotel is a $100 room. Forget doing an event here.

Arrived with no room available on a Saturday. Eventually I had a room but when trying to call down by phone no one answers. I needed laundry dealt with. So I went to reception and waiting for the reception staff to apologise due to shortage of staff. Surely a hotel like Marriott staffs properly. Anyway he said laundry next day but when I mentioned Sunday he checked and they could not do it. Again a large hotel with no facilities. This is the beginning but i came once before and had a terrible experience so not now looking forward again. Such a shame with the great golf course.

For the price of the rooms, one would expect this to be a top hotel, but it was very disappointing. My room was in the main tower, and there was a strong “sewage gas” smell coming from the drain. One of the closet doors rubbed on the floor and was difficult to open and shut. My 2 coworkers were “upgraded” to villas, and those were even worse. There was a strong mildew odor in both villas, and the furniture, flooring, bathrooms, etc. are very old and dated. As is, think low end motel. This hotel is in a great location, and once was a great hotel, but it sorely needs updating. If you want to play the TPC Sawgrass or Dye’s Valley golf courses, you may just have to bite the bullet and suffer through.

We did limo car service for Sawgrass during TPC Tournament and it was an amazing experience, the resort and the staff are great, besides the traffic which is understandable during TPC. Highly recommended!

Because of one terrible front desk experience i would tell everybody to stay away from this hotel. I went to the front desk to ask for a late check out expecting to receive a no for an answer as the Players Championship was taking place, but was pleasantly surprised to receive a yes. The front desk associate rekeyed my room key and I went to dinner. When I returned the key did not work so I went back to the front desk to have my key re-activated. I asked if it still had my 2:30 late check out and this (different) front desk agent said there were no notes and he could not honor this request. I asked for a manager to discuss the situation, but the manager refused to come out and address the question. Hard to recommend a hotel that "lies" and does not honor their commitments. I had no reason to make this up and this is very frustrating. All that the first associated needed to do was tell me no. So either the first associate lied or the second one did. Either way, do not do business in this day and age with companies that are not reputable.

Beautiful grounds but VERY obvious this place was purchased by a private equity firm in 2025. Not a penny of improvements made to a tired property with extremely tired rooms, worn out, rusty, frayed, 1990s holiday inn feel. Predicting this will be razed in a year or so and replaced with a luxury residential housing/ golf development.
