Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa

This hotel is okay on the surface. The rooms are just barely average. No amenities - be prepared. We came back to room at 4PM after being out all day and thought the room would be made up with bed made and fresh towels - no luck - found room just as we left it. A cheap hotel would do better than this. Shame on Narriott. Yuck!!!

Upon arriving at the hotel, my Tesla ran out of charge, an unexpected but manageable situation, or so I thought. I immediately sought assistance from the front desk and valet staff, expecting the type of professionalism and problem-solving Marriott is known for. Instead, I was met with indifference, confusion, and an overall unwillingness to help. Not a single staff member offered a practical solution, no effort to help locate a nearby charger, provide access to an outlet, or even demonstrate concern for a guest clearly in distress. Their response was not only unhelpful but dismissive, leaving me stranded and embarrassed in front of other guests. It was the antithesis of hospitality. I have stayed at Marriott properties around the country for both business and leisure, and I have always believed your brand stood for care, reliability, and leadership in guest service. Unfortunately, my experience at Sawgrass represented the opposite: a lack of initiative, empathy, and accountability from a team that should have been trained to handle such basic guest needs. I do not expect perfection, but I do expect integrity and responsiveness. What happened at Marriott Sawgrass was not a simple oversight—it was a failure of culture and training.

The property was beautiful. Staff was excellent. Food was really good.

The rooms are need of upgrading.

We went to meet up with extended family for a holiday and had a good experience overall. The staff was lovely and helpful. It is not on the beach, but they have a shuttle. This is not normally a place we stay but there were so many extended family members staying there… ended up being a good overall experience. Nice and quiet.

They ac went out the first night. They fixed it around 3am.

Not only was I charged $1200 for a $600 stay, but staff also were unhelpful and gave extremely inconsistent answers. No remedies, solutions, or assistance was provided despite staff admitting it was a clerical error. I was then told my room would be more than the original amount with no reason provided. I could not sleep in this room. The air barely works and it is extremely hot. I live in Florida so the humidity is nothing new but I have never woken up sweating until I stayed in this hotel. Again, no remedy or solution offered. This has been the worse stay of my life.

Hotel itself was fine, staff within the hotel itself were professional. We were put in a villa, not the main hotel which required more driving and still charged $22 a day for our car to be parked in a 95% empty lot in front of the building. The room itself was like a 2-3 star beach hotel, worn down, not very clean and miserably uncomfortable furniture and bed. Room was cleaned once in a 3 day stay. Floor tiles loose all over the place, greasy fingerprints all over thr bathroom fixtures. Shower and products were best part lf the room. Balcony would have been relaxing if more than 1 chair provided for w guests. Spent $400/night when we could have stayed at a HyattPlace closer to where we spent the most time for 1/3 of the cost. Shuttle to the beach was great, but access ends at 5-6pm. Would not stay here again.
