Woodcliff Hotel and Spa

My wife and I have stayed at Woodcliff several times in the past. This time, everything was just "broken". Starting with the reservation. I mentioned that we were just getting away for a few days and wanted to soak in the hot tub til we were raisins. They never mentioned once that the hot tub was broken and drained. From comments we found from other guests, its been this way for a long time. Just be up front ! If you know I am coming for a purpose and you don't have that amenity - be honest. The room was fine but again little things! There was no chair. It was a double queen room which, in their pictures, shows at least a desk chair. The curtains had a few hangers come loose from the curtain rod making them difficult to close. We fixed those. The shower has a hand wand which in our room was leaking immensely. Then the side of the shower head fixture that holds the hand wand - fell off. I was able to snap it back into place. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was broken. A sign indicated as much. I would have just appreciated it if the sign directed you to the next closest ice machine. Look! Stuff breaks, I get it. It was just the accumulation of a whole bunch of little things that never worked or went right. We told the manager by text what was going on. He offered assistance but then admitted that he couldn't fix any of it on a holiday weekend. We did put in a list of issues on check out. I just feel like if I went back today, I'd put money on the fact that it hasn't been fixed. Not that I could have used it or cared but I would have appreciated it if they just said "Sorry, here is a "whatever" towards your next stay" They did not.

Room hadn’t been used in quite some time, layer of thick dust gave it away. Also the dirty dishes were another clue. There was no safe in the room, I’ll start with that. Had to have someone bring one and while they were there they saw we were getting ready to use the hot tub and pool. Ummm guess what neither were working. They thought a free bottle of champagne would suffice. We were so disappointed with pretty much everything, no one was particularly interested in our disappointment to make it right in any kind of way.

The location is near a mall, other stores and restaurants and not far from the highway for easy on/off access. The room was nice, clean, quiet and good value. The staff were friendly and provided great service. It was convenient having a yummy restaurant on premises for dinner - food was great. Nice bar atmosphere for unwinding in the evening. Starbucks on premises with free cup of coffee for guests and a convenient quick breakfast in addition to a sit-down breakfast for those with more time. Meeting rooms worked well, with various other rooms for breakout sessions.

Front desk staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming! Would highly recommend. Room was clean and had a beautiful view with the skyline of Rochester.

This stay was an exceptionally pleasant experience. The hotel and amenities were great but what set this hotel apart was the staff - from checking in to checking out they were among the best staff I have dealt with in my 30+ years of travel. It was winter so I did not get a chance to use the golf course or truly experience the surrounds, but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff more than made up for that.

I wish I would have picked a different place. The spa and restaurant are updated, modern and nice. I had a good spa service and a great dinner. Very professional. The hotel is where they have not spent money in a long time. There was hair in my shower when I arrived. The freezer section of the room fridge is a block of ice. Half of the plugs in the room do not work. You can only get basic cable - no streaming options. The indoor pool is freezing. There are cosmetic issues with the room that need to be repaired. They allow dogs so I can hear the dog barking in the room next to mine. Love dogs but I didn't need to wake up at 6:00 am because the dog in the next room needed to go out. And this morning I woke up to no power and no heat and no one at the front desk and no one answering the front desk phone or the hospitality text system they have. I guess they do not have a back up generator. Until they update the rooms this place has a very The Shining vibe, which is not what I wanted. I also noticed they put a note up that they are not serving breakfast this Saturday morning. This is officially not a vacation. It is a trip and I have already looked at moving hotels. They also have a lot of hockey teams here so check-in takes awhile. *I am here for a hockey tournament but try to stay at non hockey hotels to make it a little easier of a stay.

My wife, daughter, and I came into town for the Thanksgiving holiday. We decided to stay here as it was convenient to the thruway, shopping, and restaurants. Short drive into Bushnell Basin and Village of Pittsford. The staff was very accommodating, especially Leslie Hartman at the front desk. It was nice having a coffee shop right in the lobby and the restaurant was very convenient/enjoyable as well. My wife and daughter also took advantage of the spa for facials, pedicure, and massage. They also shot down the road to Eastview Mall to do some Christmas shopping. Our room was very nice and clean. It was also reasonably priced in comparison to the other luxury hotel in the area. I will definitely stay here again. The view was fantastic as well.

Very wonderful place to stay for the holiday season! Great food and very nice staff! The view from the room and the dining room was amazing!

Gang, the hotel looks dated. The carpeting, the plain doors, the popcorn ceilings The step up into shower For 30 more i am in Del Monte really nice No funny smells: musty

Love woodcliff and always have, but the hot tub and pool heater really need to be addressed. I know the hot tubs been out of order for months and months, and now the pool heater is out of service leaving the pool about 50°. I have a young child and for that reason I don't know if I will come again until those are fixed. Maybe in the summertime but definitely not in the winter.
