"3 Stars – Incredible Dinner, Disappointing Check-In Experience"

We purchased the Valentine’s Day Dinner & Stay package at Woodcliff Hotel & Spa. Check-in was scheduled for 4:00 PM, and thankfully we had dinner reservations for 7:30 PM. Let me start with the positives — dinner was absolutely amazing. The wait staff was phenomenal, attentive without being intrusive, and the bar service after dinner was exceptional as well. I don’t think there was a single couple who didn’t leave with a box containing leftover 24-layer chocolate cake — and honestly, that cake may have been even better than the steak and lobster. The dining experience truly felt special. Unfortunately, the overall experience falls short of five stars due to the check-in process. We arrived slightly before 4:00 PM just to see if our room might be ready. We were told it hadn’t been cleaned yet but that it would be made a priority and should be ready in about 20 minutes — they’d call us. Forty minutes later, still no call. When we went back into the lobby, it looked like an airport during delays — guests everywhere sitting with their luggage. It was clear very few rooms were actually ready at the 4:00 PM check-in time. We didn’t get into our room until around 5:45 PM. Had we not scheduled dinner for 7:30 PM, this would have been even more stressful, as we still needed time to shower and change. What was most frustrating wasn’t even the delay itself — it was the lack of acknowledgment. There was no apology, no sense of urgency, and no indication that this wasn’t simply business as usual. The staff acted as though this was completely normal. For a package that costs around $750 before drinks — and about $1,300 total for the evening — you expect a high-end, five-star experience from start to finish. To be fair, once we got to the room, it was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and while things felt a bit dated, everything was still nice. I just wish the first impression — the check-in experience — had matched the quality of the dinner and the price point. With smoother operations and better communication, this could have easily been a five-star stay.

Basically all the amenities is down and I feel like that’s something that customer should know before hand so they should know if they really wanna book or not then I told the front desk lady he didn’t have no type of way to make it better or nothing like that

"disappointed"

we booked through a 3rd party we wanted to come enjoy the pool & hot tub we were celebrating valentines early as we are working on actual valentines day The 3rd party never knew the hot tub & pool was out of use during our stay we were very disappointed definitely would not stayed if we l ew ahead of time i did reach out to the hotel management are now trying to give us a full Refund i am currently waiting to hear from front end management the hotel is beautiful but we were not happy about not being told about the amenities being closed the 3rd party are waiting for me to get a email allowing a refund at this point it is very time consuming & confusing for me i even asked for resort fees to be deducted as a courtesy for returning customers that was denied i am currently looking for Full refund of the 2 night stay please & Thank you

"Nice close get a way weekend!"

A group of ladies spent the weekend at Woodcliff enjoying the Suite, Spa and dinner at Horizons! Everything was very nice! We did have an issue Friday night as we woke to water pouring out of the bathroom light from above!! NOT the fault of WOODCLIFF!! All the staff was VERY apologetic and took care of the problem in a quick manner. We were compensated for the inconvenience appropriately. The Spa treatments were very relaxing and dinner was great.

"Was very nice in spite of some little things that couldn't really do cuz of the weather. But overall was great."

The jazz band that was there excellent music wife enjoyed it a lot and I did as well customer service very professional and accommodating. Drinks took little while but was tasty and dinner. Appetizer was good the wings when we got there we were little hungry before reservations.

"Not a high end hotel !"

No Valet, No Bell service, 1 elevator working, the carpet coming undone and worn in the hall way. Hot tub not working. The bed was comfy and shower great water pressure however I wasn’t able to adjust the wand for the 2nd shower head.

"Lovely hotel"

Room was spacious and very clean. We were on the second floor and there was live music in the evening but we did not hear any of it in our room. Check in was easy and the staff super friendly. While we did not eat meals on site, the menu looked great. The coffee at the coffee bar was great.
