Poached haddock for breakfast. Kettle to make own drinks in bedroom with tea, coffee, water, hot chocolate.

A bit narrow to stand at basin due to oversized bath, would have preferred more space around basin and toilet. It wasn't a problem for us as we're not of an obese size. Unnecessary cushions decorating the bed, we didn't know where to put them overnight.

The restaurant and dining experience is exceptional. The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast offers a very broad menu and is very well cooked. My partner had poached eggs with avocado and I a full English. The staff are the pubs unique selling point.

If you are disabled or have COPD, as I have, then this is probably not for you as there are multiple tight steep staircases. We were sadly given room 4 in the attic space. Whilst the room was very clean, the roof eats into the room significantly meaning to get past the bed into the bathroom you had to lean over the bed and shuffle past. There was no shower curtain of any kind. The bath is a deep standalone, I was able to get into it but it took me nearly 30 minutes to get out of it, needless to say, I used it only the once. Parking has been a continual issue for years and remains so. There is no reserved parking for the 5 rooms which I find bizarre. Neither of us slept during our stay, it was very very hot in the room despite there being fans. We had to have the window open but sadly it is a very busy and very noisy road outside. Even into the early hours. We wouldn’t stay there again unless we were offered room 1, but you don’t know which room you’re getting until you check in, unless you book direct and months in advance to ensure room 1 is available.

Location was good for us. Staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was tasty and lots of it.

Only a bath in the room and hand held shower. We did know before hand, but wasn’t really practical. Was a little noisy as on main road but I used ear plugs to sleep. Think just generally property needs freshening up.

Great staff. The boss was brilliant and the young staff were a credit to her.Food was good with huge portions.

I would much prefer a discrete shower to a bath.

Lovely room. Ours was at the top, it was a hot night and heat rises! We did have the windows open but it’s quite a busy road so lots of road noise. The blind also let in a lot of light too and if light sensitive there was a bright green light shinning in the ceiling. Bed very comfortable as were the pillows. Restaurant packed and the food was good. I had the roast and my husband had the mutton curry - huge potions. Staff very helpful and smiley but rushed off their feet.
