Fauna Montevideo is located in a historic building from 1927 and therefore does not have an elevator, so guests must use the stairs to reach the accommodations. Starting October 1, 2025, the Municipality of Montevideo has implemented a daily tourism tax of US$1 per person per day for all tourists, with a maximum of US$5 per person, to be charged by all registered accommodations. Fauna was even better than in the pictures. A very stylish hotel with a great location, and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. I would highly recommend it!

"Great welcome and friendly staff"

A warm welcome from the host, with details of the area, and the room was clean with 2 bottles of water. The lobby is nice to sit in and look at the books they have on the tables, and there are some drinks available as a taster.

There was a slight smell of damp in the bathroom.

"Lovely room in a nice hotel"

Awesome room in a very nice hotel in a great location within Montevideo, we were able to walk everyhwere we needed to go. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. They provided drinkign water which was great.

The room was modern and lovely with a small balcony over the pedestrian street. Staff was very helpful.

No breakfast. Pedestrian street was loud.

Loved this hotel, interior is gorgeous, lots of thought and quality went into it. Comfortable, clean, close to cafe, deli, markets.

Hard to find. Discreet signage, but worth the extra time to find.
