"Charged for a room that I did not occupy"

I walked in to the Commerce, Georgia Hampton Inn on Friday, 3/22/19 at approximately 3:55pm to inform the front desk receptionist that I had a family emergency and I would be heading right back home to Charlotte, NC. after this face to face contact. I asked to have my account credited, since I clearly intended to occupy the reserved and fully paid for room, prior to getting the news that I needed to return home, but was simply unable to. The polite young lady at the front desk indicated that she could not find a charge on my credit card, but she would alert her manager the following morning, to not charge me for the reservation. It turns out I had already been charged by Hotels.com on the previous Monday, 3/18/19. I called the hotel from home indicating that I need this payment credited. I've been waiting for my account to be credited since 3/22/19, to no avail.

Old property. Clerk at desk wearing Jean and old T-shirt. In general not well kept like Hampton Inns are known for. Motel 6 has this place beat. Close it down. If feel swindled!
