DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe

Pool closed, under renovation in many areas, noisy in the morning.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a few days at the Double Tree hotel in Santa Fe. I parked in their lot, and when leaving found that my car wouldn’t start. Fortunately, the Honda dealer was just a half-mile down the road. In a very few days they had installed a new starter. But what a wonderful place to be stranded! The Double Tree is a real hotel. You enter a fifty-foot high atrium with a huge fireplace on one side. A large reception area furnished with over-stuffed chairs invites society; you are not even tempted to look for the waffle machine. At the registration desk Oscar provides cordial and competent service. There is a bright and sun llt breakfast room; menu or buffet, your choice. In the evening Milton and Patty preside at the bar and lounge; a somewhat limited menu but well prepared. The bar is full service. Imagine, you can have that “one for the road” (That was then!) after you get to your hotel. Of course you don’t have to wait for your car to break down to visit the Santa Fe Double Tree.

This hotel should not be able to call itself a Doubltree Hotel. While I understand that some Doubletrees are old, this one takes the cake. The place smells like smoke, and the first room smelled badly of smoke, so I requested another room. The second also smelled like smoke, but not as bad. The place smells of odorant to mask odors. It's old. Some of the buttons on the elevator did not work. Don't stay here. All we wanted was a good night's sleep before heading to the airport in the morning. We didn't get it. In addition to road noise, there was banging somewhere in the hotel that kept us up.

Unfortunately found mold in the bathroom. The bathroom towel rack was off of the wall in my room. Walls are also incredibly thin, heard the person in the room beside me very vividly.

I did not appreciate the 8 am knock on our door for housekeeping. Luckly i had the lock on insode becaaue they openws the door but could not get in

The employees were great

We appreciated the shuttle service into Santa Fe - very convenient service. The hotel is dated and really needs a refresh!

Cookies were good staff was good Our room was clean but old and outside in parking lot was dirty and noisy because we were right next to a busy street

The staff is always so friendly and helpful! Rooms are super nice! We always stay at Double tree when visiting Santa Fe!
