The Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa

We held our family reunion at the Godfrey and it was amazing. Fernando and Eva were extremely accommodating which made our event very special and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better team from start to finish. Major Kudos the Godfrey and their team.

The staff is amazing but the rooms are so dirty, the floors, the shower, our room smelled so nasty. So uncomfortable in the room roaches.

We absolutely love WTR and the vibe it brings. Jake is the staple bartender every Tuesday Im able to swing in. An absolute gem of a guy. Tacos are cheap ($4) and delicious. $5 Milagros shots, can’t beat it. Pool is crystal clear with lounge chairs in the shallow end. Met the manager Will , he was upbeat and friendly and was able to help us navigate different things to do in Tampa. Will be back.

This hotel was disgusting . Mind you my mom has been going here 10+ years waaayyyy before it was called the Godfrey . So let me start by saying my room was switched 3 times before I left @ 1am w TWO kids . The first room the AC was broken, there was a hole under the door that I could look under and cum stains on the chair . The second room had the ac from upstairs leaking on me , black mold all over the walls and shower , carpets were filthy . The third room oh lord , THERE WAS GNATS in the sheets . I pulled my comforter back @ 12:36 to go to sleep and there was GNATS . That was it for me I wasn’t going to a 4th room in less then 8 hrs !

We loved our balcony view of Tampa Bay, proximity to airport and walking to dinner, beach.

Going into the vacation, my partner and I had high hopes for the hotel as the pictures illustrated a beautiful resort with pleasant cabanas. Upon arrival the hotel is extremely rundown and the floors are flooded with stains. My partner and I made it through the night only to be awoken by the sound of dripping in the bathroom. Come to find out the floors above us had flooding toilet water that made its way into our bathroom flooding the floor. My greatest advice is to avoid this hotel at all costs, I would suggest a budget motel over this monstrosity of a resort.

The only thing I liked about this hotel, was the ocean view. Upon arrival, we immediately had to change rooms, because there were bugs. I’ve taken pictures. Also there appeared to be work being done in the closet, because there was debris along with garbage left by previous guests. The air unit was loud and leaking water on the balcony. The carpet had not been vacuumed. The furniture had definitely seen better days maybe in the early 2000’s the hallways and carpet was filthy and reaped of urine. I only stayed because I had no where else to go and would not have been refunded in time to pay for another place. This was definitely not what I was expecting and I pray that no creepy crawlers made it into my luggage and back home. Also, there are no microwaves in rooms. There is only one in the lobby for the entire motel guest to use. This was my husband and I 24th anniversary and his birthday. I thought this would be a nice romantic get a way for us to celebrate. I was so embarrassed.
