Ibis Jakarta Arcadia

I'm a long time backpacker and on occasion I crave some comfort and amenities. The Ibis Jakarta fits that bill to the tee. Very nice friendly and attentive staff and clean rooms with decent wi-fi. The hotel is a block away from Jl-Jaksa and many local eateries and about 1 km from the museum and the train station. On the meter a taxi from Ibis to the train station is less than 10,000 rupees. I would return to this hotel.

Its a pretty good hotel...it's not luxury...but clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. What you need to know about this hotel is: there is a 500,000 IDR cash deposit at check-in....that's to make sure you don't run up a big bill in room service and skip out. Make sure you keep the copy of your deposit receipt for when you check out, so you can get refunded cash....without that receipt...you're not getting your money back...so don't lose it!! The hotel has 24 hour security at the front door and a safe in every room. The hotel offers daily laundry service and the fee is based on the weight of the laundry. The hotel offers currency exchange.....the rates were pretty good.....much better than any airport. Water: the hotel furnishes 2 small bottles of water a day when they clean your room....so, you will need to make frequent trips to 7-11 or Circle K for bottled water. The hotel is very skimpy on toilet paper.....so it wouldn't hurt to buy a few rolls of your own.......but it's like that at all medium to low priced hotels in Indonesia. Internet: The hotel offers free wi-fi.....but it's bandwidth is overburden with other guests uploading pictures and video to the Internet.....so connection speeds are slow. The hotel restaurant has an all you can eat breakfast buffet for about $4.....or you can walk down the street and eat at McDonald's, Burger King or Pizza Hut. I was very pleased with my stay at the ibi Jakarta Arcadia.

The hotel was quite convenient, helpful and clean. Helpful staff, clean rooms. No complaints.

Service, cleanliness of the rooms, response of the staff are good enough. The Veg/Non-Veg combination of the Breakfast buffet suited me well. I have Non-Veg Foods very occasionally and very selectively. Since the Breakfast menu had a good distribution of Veg/Non-Veg items, i could manage without searching for Veg. Restaurants outside. Overall Nice Experience

Well located at a busy street very close to Jalan Thamrim CBD district. Plenty of local eateries and Sarinah Dept store is one traffic light away. Taxi is readily available. Airport is about 1.5hrs by taxi. Overall a convenient and economic hotel.

I liked the hotel a lot and would stay there again. For long stays the items on the breakfast menu could be changed more often. Their shuttle service needs to be available at all times, it was not, and taxi had to be hired at times. Hotel could invest on repairing adjacent shack businesses, their roofs, to make the views from the hotel stairs more appealing. This last improvement will really improve the overall view.

I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of Ibis Arcadia. It is also centrally situated. My only complaint was the sink blocked up and the commentary on Australia Network was crossed with a local radio station.
