My recent experience at the Ramada by Wyndham Augusta Downtown Hotel & Conference Center warrants a strong warning: Do Not Stay here. From the shocking presence of a cat on the check-in counter, claimed as a support animal but triggering my allergies, to the unsettling sight of roaches crawling near the front desk and my room, this hotel fails on hygiene. Adding to the nightmare, there's an apparent halfway house situation, casting a shadow of unease over the entire place. The overall atmosphere is uncomfortable and far from the relaxing stay one expects. In the interest of your comfort and wellbeing, I urge you to seek alternative accommodations in Augusta. This is a clear case of a hotel that should be avoided at all costs.
The hotel was so bad we left without staying the night. The room was uninhabitable. The AC disnt work and the room was a sweaty stinky sauna. The bathroom tiles were stained and falling, the bathroom had a makeshift countertop, the carpet was sticky and dirty, there were spiders in the bed, the sheets were stained and mold was everywhere. When we checked in a nice woman was using pen/paper to find an available room, in hindsight I dont know for sure she was an employee because there was no name tag and she wasnt there when we left an hour later. There was a man smoking crack out front by the entrance and he was goong in and out of the hotel.
Staff is friendly enough and the location of the hotel is nice. The hotel itself is very outdated and getting a little rundown. The breakfast is not free unlike almost every other hotel in the area.

I have never received a quicker or more pleasant check-in. When I left very early the next morning, the same woman walked me to my car outside as it was still dark and she wanted to make sure that I was safe. Five Star Service!

If you're into hotels with bad service, outdated rooms and bathrooms and the smell of wet cigarettes you're gonna love this place!
Lobby area was very nice, as was the room we had. No fridges in the rooms, even the suites. A microwave for the floor, few ice machines, one working drink vending machine, no food services on weekends. Staff was wonderful and helpful, easy parking. Walking distance to restaurants.
