Haze and Kites Resort Munnar

The views!!! Wow! Worth coming here for the sunset alone (if it’s cloudy it’s not as good so you could be disappointed but when it’s a clear day it’s incredible). The room is very clean and comfortable. The restaurant food is nice! I saw some reviews saying it’s bland - maybe it’s just because I’m English but I thought it was all delicious! They do chai on one of the sun decks in the early evening which is lovely. The pool is stunning! Also saw some reviews saying it’s not chlorinated so maybe not that clean - it doesn’t smell chlorinated so guessing it’s not but it didn’t seem at all unclean and I saw the lads cleaning it constantly. It’s certainly not a pool you would be splashing about in and going underwater in because it’s a posing and relaxing pool so the chlorination didn’t bother me at all.

I think expectations make all the difference - we weren’t expecting a mega luxury place so thought it was charming here but some other reviewers seemed disappointed. It is a little rough around the edges - like they have the ingredients for somewhere really luxurious but haven’t quite pulled it off. Ironically, what I feel it could really do with is a woman’s touch but, as some other reviewers have highlighted - there are zero women working here. It makes sense because, it being so remote, the staff have to live on site but it would have been nice for there to be some women here. Main things they could do to improve the experience are: - better (ideally local) teas and coffees in the rooms - a mirror above the desk in the bedroom so you have somewhere to sit and get ready - some hooks to hang things (there’s a wardrobe and a very small towel rail in the bathroom but we had things like swim towels and stuff that you just want to pop somewhere while you get changed etc and there’s no where) - a armchair or bench in the bedroom - in the photos some of the rooms have a bench along the end of the bed which would have been so helpful but ours did not - a bar (they don’t serve alcohol so obviously a non-alcoholic one) or lounge so there’s somewhere to sit in the evenings that’s not the restaurant or your room - could be inside or outside but would have been so nice if they had this - a refinement of the entertainment e.g. they do a campfire in the evening but it’s literally just a big fire and a bench - they could really make something of this but currently it’s not very exciting.

Amazing location, very quiet and serene place up in the hills ! Service is good, and rooms are very nice and spacious.

Every night during dinner service there was extremely loud music playing from the bonfire , which ruined the experience of sitting in the quiet hills surrounded by nature.

This is an excellent resort in Munnar, the rooms are very spacious and clean with proper amenities. The mountain view from the room is amazing. Irecommend anyone looking to book here choose the same room i've booked. very beautiful stay ,fresh air and very rejuvenating. I will be considering a second trip later.
