Hilton Kuching

This time our trip to Kuching was a road trip by car as we brought our grand nephew from Germany to experience Sarawak. To enter the car park is very easy as there is a system installed that reads the car number plate and once the car is registered with front office, entry and exit are very easy and best of all: car parking is free for hotel residents. The car park is spotlessly clean and well lit at all times. It looks more like a car show room and its only a short walk to the lobby. Adrian checked us in and since we arrived just before 12noon, he suggested to wait in the Executive Lounge until the rooms were ready. We subsequently went out for lunch and when we returned at around 2pm the rooms were ready with our luggage already placed inside. All the staff at the Hilton Kuching were extremely customer focussed and always greeted us with a smile and addressed us by name. Adrian from front office, Hadith from bell service and Betty and her team in the coffee shop are just a few of the many that provide the signature Kuching Hilton service: Unobtrusive, personalized, professional and always super friendly. Not forgetting the energetic and ever present General Manager of course, Adrian Teh, who is a leader that crafted a service culture that is hard to top and embedded that philosophy in so many of his team members. The team in the Executive Lounge was most caring and hospitable. Petros and Sheila and all the others created a magical experiece and staying on the club floor is like being in a hotel within a hotel. The Hilton Kuching has been towerig over the Kuchig waterfront for over 30 years and is the undisputed leader of the branded and unbranded hotels in Kuching. The prime location is the best in Kuching but its the highly personalized and professional service and exceptional cleanliness of the rooms and public areas that stand out.

Returning to **Hilton Kuching for the third time** as a **Diamond member**, I felt the familiar warmth of its hospitality the moment I stepped in. The staff, ever attentive, welcoming and engaging, continue to uphold the kind of service that makes this place more than just a hotel—it feels like a second home. The recent refurbishment has elevated the experience further. My **executive suite** was a testament to thoughtful design—every material chosen with care, every detail reflecting a commitment to comfort and elegance. The **new air-conditioning system** was impressively responsive, creating the perfect climate for relaxation. And the addition of the **Executive Lounge**? A quiet retreat that enhances the experience. Beyond the walls, **Hilton Kuching’s magic lies in its location**. Sitting by the window, overlooking the **Sarawak River**, I found myself mesmerised. As dusk settles, the city’s **night lights dance** across the water—a sight that never fails to leave an impression. The **fitness facilities** and **outdoor pool** remain well-maintained, offering spaces to unwind and recharge. But the unexpected gem? A **Pilates reformer**, discreetly placed in the gym—a surprise discovery that added an extra layer to my stay. It turned out to be an **excellent workout**, offering both challenge and refinement to my fitness routine. Most importantly, a big **thank you to Hilton Kuching for the room upgrade**—it made the experience even more special. Yet, what makes Hilton Kuching truly special is how it seamlessly blends **modern sophistication with the rich tapestry of Malaysian culture**. Nestled in Borneo, a land of vibrant biodiversity and heritage, the hotel embodies the beauty of its surroundings—its soul tied to the city’s essence, reflecting the warmth of Sarawak itself. For me, Hilton Kuching isn’t just a stay—it’s an experience that lingers, evolving with each visit while holding onto the charm that first made it unforgettable.

For the forst time ever in a Hilton anywhere in the world I experienced racist behaviour by the Hilton team and this was in the Exec Lounge. I felt so angry about it I complained to the manager and the general manager who hasn't really accepted there was an issue or dealt with it in a way I'm certain it won't be repeated. To be clear this is against a white European male vs Asian guests. Otherwise a nice hotel but I won't be back and can't recommend to others visiting the area I'm afraid and thats as a loyal Hilton Diamond member.

The bathroom had an unpleasant sewer smell. The buffet breakfast was disappointing. We expected more from the Hilton brand.

We visited March 2024 for the first time in 5 years, and the hotel was like coming home. We were remembered and welcomed by many staff, which says a great deal on how regulars are treated. The hotel has undergone a lot of refurbishment and we were given a corner suite on the 7th floor - the upper floors and lounge were still not ready. We moved room due ot a leak, which was swiftly dealt with and not an issue. The lounge service was on the ground floor - limited compared to the normal but perfectly acceptable. Worth noting that the band and bar area has now gone, so no end of evening tipples anymore. the corner suite was very good. Comfortable sitting area with a street view, and a bedroom with a river view. A fridge for colling your water etc, sofa, chair, good TV and space. We will be back October 2025 and already looking forward ot it.

Stayed 4 nights as Diamond member. Staff were friendly and helpful. Got an upgraded larger room on 11th floor with great view of the river. Room/bed was comfortable; AC kept room cool; noise was minimal; shower with rain and handheld with good temperature control and water pressure; toilet with private door. Gym on 1st floor was huge with various equipment including Pilates reformer and rowing machine. Did not use the fairly large outdoor pool due to rain during the stay. Breakfast buffet has a huge variety of options; chef even made a vegetarian laksa for me; one thing that can be improved is more labeling of the food items to indicate vegetarian, vegan, halal, etc. Executive lounge on 12th floor with great view of river; it has adequate selection of appetizers, fruits, desserts, drinks from 5-7PM and just snacks during other day time hours; staff in lounge were friendly. Location of hotel is excellent and likely has one of the best view of the river; close to old town, riverboats, water light show, etc. Overall, great hotel in Kuching.

What a fabulous hotel! Probably the best view I’ve ever had in a hotel. I was directly below the Executive Lounge, which also has the same stunning outlook. I had a wonderful with a very comfortable bed. The hotel is so well located. Go left from the ground floor exit towards Carpenter Street or go right towards the awesome Jalan Padungan. The pool is splendid. One of the few to have a decent deep end (1.9m), and you can enjoy a beer at the bar. Breakfast is also very good, with the full gamut of Western and Asian options.

This was our 4th stay within the last 6 month and as always, it was a most memorable and satisfying experience. It is always a delight to be greeted by the bell staff, especially Harith, upon arrival. Check in at reception was very smooth and as Hilton Honours members the formalities were minimal. The newly renovated rooms are super clean, comfortable and the rooms overlooking the river have a view one gets never tired of. The Hilton Kuching is the best choice for an Internationally branded 5star hotel in Kuching. It is very professionally managed and true to all the brand standards. Dealing with all the staff is such a delight as they not only provide efficient service but do it in such a polite and non scripted way that reflects true Sarawak hospitality. We shall return and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to any business or leisure traveller.

Good central hotel. Staff attentive and helpful. Exec rooms refurbished recently - much improved. Exec Lounge excellent with spectacular view. Pool closed for us but looked good. Gym of good quality. Rooms very clean, minimalist decor.
