The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa

The Westin is right on Seven Mile Beach and is a very nice property. From the hotel to the beach you pass a couple of pools and a poolside bar, then you hit the beach where there are tons of chairs. If you want to sit in the front row you better be out there by around 5am although they say you aren't allowed to reserve chairs. There is a coffee shop, sushi restaurant, an outdoor bar food joint, and two indoor restaurants so theoretically you don't need to leave the resort but with all the great restaurants on the island you should get out and explore. We rented two ocean front floor rooms which walk RIGHT out to the beach which was awesome.

I didn’t get her name, but she had on a green shirt. I wanted to share a lovely moment I observed during bingo on Wednesday . A little girl was struggling with her bingo boxes, but she stayed very polite and tried her best. A little boy in a blue shirt kindly stepped in to help her, and it was very sweet to see them working together. I thought it was a wonderful example of kindness, teamwork, and positive behavior, and I wanted to make sure it was recognized. Kind regards,

We chose this hotel to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, and unfortunately the experience was not what we hoped for. We booked a partial ocean‑view room, but the room we were given had no resemblance to that description. When we approached the front desk — twice — to request the room type we paid for, we were met with smirky, unprofessional and unhelpful responses from Liz and Jasmine, which felt incredibly disrespectful. On the second day, Barbie from reservations contacted us, but the room she offered as a “solution” had double beds, which made no sense for an anniversary stay. We took photos and videos to document the discrepancy. Another couple traveling with us booked the exact same room category and received a lovely partial ocean view, which only highlighted how poorly our situation was handled. This experience fell far below expectations, and certainly not what we hoped for during such a special milestone.

My family stayed in Nov-Dec 2025. We initially booked the sister property Sunshine Suites but due to renovations we were moved to the Westin for the duration of our stay (at Sunshine Suite rates). We were estatic with this as we had planned to spend the majority of our time at the Westin pool and beach anyway. My kids (10 and 8) LOVED it. It is simply breathtaking. While food/drinks on site is spendy, there are plenty of alternatives nearby. However, kid drinks at the pool are actually very reasonable! What made our experience enjoyable was the event staff responsible for pool-side kid activities during the day/evening. Particular shout out to Shirlando who absolutely rocked it and went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome.

Excellent hotel. Beautiful property on a gorgeous ocean. Wonderful staff. Great food. Beautiful clean rooms. Nightly recommended this hotel for sure.

The Westin is a beautiful hotel located right on the beach and only about a 12-minute drive from the airport. We rented a car and appreciated that parking was free. Driving on the left side of the road ended up being much less intimidating than we expected. We booked an island view room, which overlooked the parking lot. Our SNAs were not approved for an ocean view upgrade, but we still enjoyed our stay. The room itself was nice, and the AC worked exceptionally well. That said, with the daily resort fees and taxes, we ended up spending around $650 per night, and I’m not sure the overall experience justified that price. Poolside service was very slow & inconsistent. One thing we found odd was that the volleyball net was only put up weekly during the scheduled activity time instead of being available for guests throughout the day like the other resorts. We asked if they could set it up for us to play a game and we were told no. For travelers looking for better value, you can stay at Sunshine Suites, their sister property, for roughly half the cost while still enjoying access to the Westin amenities. Overall, Grand Cayman is a beautiful destination with amazing beaches, and we had a great time visiting.

The hotel was very nice;however, it is showing some wear and tear that could be easily repaired to maintain a refreshed look… ie: broken fixtures in lobby bathroom, broken pieces missing from wall hanging… it sounds minor, but this is a relatively expensive property and could benefit from a little attention! We had a small snafu at check-in, but was finally remedied. My advice would be to find a week without conventions… we typically book our beach trips the first week of May to avoid families/ children and crowds… we are retired, we encountered 2 conventions… front row beach chairs had to be claimed by 7 am or were nonexistent… We needed down time, and we found it, although very loud and busy! Beautiful stretch of beach for walking and clear waters! At Tortoga Grill, the salad with fresh grilled grouper was a fav… the best breakfast was the Coffee Exchange where Andrea Powell was outstanding! Does the woman ever sleep? This shop is her domaine, not just breakfast!Her service was best we received for our entire stay! The Beach House restaurant was a beautiful experience, quite delicious with outstanding service from our server, Noah. Please pay close attention to the exchange rate and the included gratuity… a cocktail billed at $23 is actually $30 USD… this adds up quickly! Our trip was lovely, but it will not warrant a return visit.

My wife and I stayed at the Westin Grand Cayman on Seven Mile Beach for 4 nights during our anniversary trip, and the experience ended up being one of our favorite vacations we’ve taken together. What stood out most about this resort was not flashy luxury or nonstop entertainment, but how calm and restorative the entire environment felt. From the staff interactions to the beach atmosphere, everything felt intentional, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. The location on Seven Mile Beach was excellent. The beach itself was never overcrowded during our stay, and we never felt pressured to rush out early to save chairs or umbrellas. The water was incredibly clear with very minimal waves, making it perfect for relaxing, swimming, and snorkeling. One of my favorite parts of the trip was simply spending an entire day in one of the beach pods with food and drink service while listening to live music nearby and watching the sunset later in the evening. The sunsets at the Westin deserve special recognition. Nearly every evening felt like a perfect photo opportunity. Whether we were walking the beach after dinner, sitting near the water, or eating at Tillie’s during sunset, the scenery constantly felt cinematic without trying too hard. The combination of white sand, calm water, palm trees, and changing sky colors made it incredibly easy to disconnect from stress and just enjoy the moment. The staff throughout the resort consistently made the experience better. We arrived to champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries in our room for our anniversary, and throughout the trip the staff always felt attentive without being overwhelming. One small detail we noticed was that we seemed to be seated at the same breakfast table each morning at Ferdinands, which may or may not have been intentional, but it added a personal touch that we appreciated. The breakfast buffet at Ferdinands was excellent and became part of our daily routine. Fresh omelets, waffles, fruit, pastries, rotating hot items, and great service made it feel worthwhile every morning. We also enjoyed the convenience of the coffee shop and pool/beach food service throughout the property. A few things future travelers should know: Grand Cayman is expensive, especially once you factor in the CI to USD conversion and automatic 18% gratuity. Resort dining and taxis can add up quickly. The island overall is much more relaxed than nightlife-focused, which we personally loved. When I return, I will absolutely book an ocean-view room with a balcony and reserve the beach pod for more than one day. Overall, the Westin Grand Cayman felt less like a busy resort and more like a place designed to help people slow down, reconnect, and fully enjoy where they are. By the end of the trip, neither of us wanted to leave.
