Hotel Senator

The room was unusable. Air freshener used by the cleaning staff made the air toxic. After 15 minutes in the room my lungs started weazing. We opened the window to try to clear the air. That didn’t help at all and when I started coughing, it was obvious that I would not survive an entire night in that room. Went to the front desk and was told there was no other room available. Was told that we had prepaid and would not be refunded. Absolute nonsense. We didn’t cancel our stay, no room with a safe environment was available. Checked availability at other hotels, very busy weekend and what was available, we could not afford. We already lost 150$. Very disappointing, as we ended up driving home and missing our grandson’s hockey tournament. Last time I ever use Booking.com to book anything. As for the Senator Hotel rating ( minus 5 stars).

Only good was the location.

Parking was a pain in the ass,got double charged by the booking.com apps,small room,bathroom are like those in apartment.small sink,no counter,small space.

The room was clean and comfortable, but small. But that's ok. The hotel is next to the bar, and the food was good. The beer was cold. Great!

One light was not working and the front disk did not have a replacement.

Central and a secure property. Room was cozy and comfortable.

Carpets in room could be replaced but also gives cozy authentic feeling .

The heating is very noisy and the interior needs updating; everything is very old, especially in the bathroom.

Continental breakfast was very good
