Tout était parfait

Staff were amazing. Pool was the best - looking out over the Nile. Beds very comfortable. Loved the food. Breakfast was fantastic. Went ballooning - short journey there and back.

Der Garten, der Pool und die gesamte Hotelanlage waren bemerkenswert schön. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben die Tage im Hotel sehr genießen können. Das Essen war sehr gut und abwechslungsreich. Der einzige negative Punkt war die völlig veraltete Zimmerausstattung. Hier muss ganz dringend etwas verändert werden. Ansonsten war die Hotelanlage in einem Top Zustand und sehr atmosphärisch.

Location was excellent as it was quiet and set back from anything else with very little river traffic noise so it was very relaxing. Pool areas were kept really clean, particularly the spa area which had a beautiful infinity pool. Breakfast was large and varied including gluten free bread and cakes. We ate at the restaurant down by the pool/river for both lunch and dinner and the menu was also very varied. We also ate at the Asian fusion restaurant which was really lovely and a nice treat, though more expensive of course. Staff were all very helpful and attentive, and the front desk arranged for us to have a room to shower and change in before leaving later in the day which we really appreciated. Private driveway for taxis meant it was easy to get around as well. Free water provided in the rooms was a lovely touch too.

The aircon in our room wasn't brilliant, however when we swapped rooms on the final day that aircon was much better so I suspect it was just our room that could use a little maintenance. Only other thing, and it's such a small thing, but the pot with hot water in for making teas at breakfast was so small it was always empty so trying to flag somebody down to fill it every day got a bit tiresome, particularly on days we had excursions and were on a time crunch. But that really was the only thing I could complain about! The rest of the stay was excellent!

The location was good.

The room was up to Hilton standards, but there were two big flies in the room even though I didn’t open the window, and a lot of hair on the carpet. My stay was only one night, but the service was not up to international standards and was therefore overpriced. The cab driver arranged by the hotel for the airport asked me for extra money. Unfortunately, the experience felt more like a local hotel.

Everything else: The food. Really not good. The noise. From 6:30am they start to roll metal trolleys and build a stage for special events ( 2 in 3 days). Music at 1000 decibels from 12:30 till 17:30 despite pleas from clients who moved as far away as possible. An absolute deafening nightmare.

Gentilezza (assente) del personale e comfort. Assenza totale di allergeni al buffet che rende impossibile alle persone con intolleranze di sapere cosa stanno mangiando. Le opzioni di cibo sia al buffet che nei ristoranti interni erano praticamente inesistenti, nessun flessibilità ad adattarsi, o ti prendevi quell’unico piatto che ti dicevano o non mangiavi. Ultima nota, consiglio di spiegare sempre al personale le differenze fra le varie intolleranze, un vegetariano non è un celiaco ne un intollerante al lattosio…

Das einzig wirklich Positive an diesem Hotel sind die Mitarbeiter. Sie waren durchweg sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend – dafür ein großes Lob. Leider hört es hier auch schon auf. Das Hotel wirbt mit fünf Sternen, entspricht diesem Standard jedoch in keiner Weise. Die Zimmer sind deutlich in die Jahre gekommen, riechen muffig und wirken insgesamt ungepflegt. Es war staubig, die Vorhänge waren nicht ordentlich geglättet, und die Sauberkeit ließ generell zu wünschen übrig. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass das Glas der Duschkabine nicht gereinigt war und auch der Room Service offenbar nicht gründlich gearbeitet hat. Von einem Fünf-Sterne-Hotel erwarte ich außerdem eine gut ausgestattete Minibar – hier musste man diese jedoch erst bestellen, und die Auswahl war sehr begrenzt. Ähnlich enttäuschend war das Frühstücksbuffet sowie das Angebot im Restaurant für Mittag- und Abendessen: sehr kleine Auswahl, wenig Vielfalt und insgesamt nicht auf einem Niveau, das man bei fünf Sternen erwarten würde. Alles in allem würde ich dieses Hotel maximal mit drei bis vier Sternen bewerten – eine echte Fünf-Sterne-Erfahrung ist es definitiv nicht. Besonders enttäuschend war auch der Umgang mit Feedback: Auf meine Rückmeldung wurde kaum eingegangen, es gab weder eine ernsthafte Entschuldigung noch eine erkennbare Bemühung, die Situation zu verbessern. Fazit: Sehr enttäuschend, das Geld absolut nicht wert. Ich würde dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen.
