"Hotel no longer exists. Please do not book because they will not refund you"

1.0

The property does not exist anymore. I booked the room after a long drive and when I got there the hotel no longer exists. The hotel is now an apartment complex the apartment manager said that I was not the only person to come to the apartments thinking the oyo hotel was still there. The oyo hotel did not refund me my money because they said I was a no show how was I a no show to a hotel that is no longer there?

There wasn’t a hotel. The oyo hotel is stealing peoples money because the hotel no longer exists.

"DO NOT STAY - NOT SAFE"

2.0

The “OYO Hotel” doesn’t exist. There is another building in its place. It is in a deserted looking area. I only saw abandoned grocery carts, industrial trash containers, tarps and seemingly NO guests. I called the credit card company I booked with points through and explained the location and situation and they tried to call the property for A WEEK to get my refund. Apparently they called multiple times a day and they couldn’t get anyone to answer the phones. This is a ghost property. Read other reviews. I was not the only one scammed by this hotel. Guests make reservations, have no where to stay and the hotel takes 100% of their money because of their air tight no refund policy. Don’t let this happen to you!

"Horrible NIGHTMARE!!"

2.0

This hotel is a run down, dirty, disgusting place of business. See attached pictures. The entire hotel smells of mold. Our hall smelled of cigarettes and marijuana smoke. My friend found crack pipes in her room and a glob of hair on the side of the tub. Blood stained pillows and a dirty sock. My husband and didn’t notice the moldy shower curtain until the next day. No smoke alarm, no toilet paper. I’m calling the health department. Manager “Alex” said they don’t give refunds. Ok, no problem. How’s getting you shut down? Even if you would have given a refund I would still call them because this is beyond subpar!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. Nightmare on Maple Ave.

"Beware!! The owner is horrible."

2.0

Beware this hotel under the current ownership!! I stayed here about a month ago and found the rooms filthy. Blood stained sheets, mice, and furniture in disrepair. I left a negative review on Google Maps. Despite the horrific state of the room, the owner was relatively courteous at check-in, so I thought I would give it another go to see if he had made improvements since taking ownership. I booked a room through the OYO website, and showed up around 5 to check in. There was one person in line in front of me who seemed to be trying to get another key for his room. Apparently, the room was in his girlfriend’s name and, though the customer in line had paid in cash with his girlfriend the day before, the owner was refusing to give him a key claiming he didn’t have to because the room wasn’t in the customer’s name. Now, I can understand that I didn’t have the whole story as an observer, but the owner’s reaction to the situation was shocking. He abruptly told the customer to leave, and said he was calling the police. Though the customer was frustrated during their exchange, he was not at all combative, aggressive or even especially rude. I was shocked. While this customer stepped aside to call his girlfriend, I stepped up to the counter. I let the owner know that I had booked and paid $51 for a room for the night on the OYO website. He took my ID and informed me that there would be a $150 deposit that would be held for 7-14 business days after check-out, pointing to a sign on the counter. I told him that the terms on the OYO booking email said to expect at some locations a deposit as high as $100. I told him that $150 seemed excessive and asked if the franchiser, OYO, was aware that he was charging such a high amount. The owner immediately told me to get out. I said I wasn’t leaving until I got OYO on the phone, and he immediately called the police. Two customers, ten minutes, two calls to the police. Totally psycho. I left and got OYO on the phone. They’re investigating, and hopefully this guy will be forced to change his deposit policy. I also found out that he had put me on a “black-list” after my review of my previous stay. That’s why he reacted so quickly with such hostility. Beware! Go to the Motel 6 down the street.

I have read other reviews and people did not give a genuine review. It is actually a nice get away spot in a private hideaway area. I enjoyed my time there. It is obvious that management and staff are making improvements. For such a cheap price it was time well spent. I will be visiting again

"Horror Story"

2.0

So I was traveling to Washington DC from Atlanta Georgia & my tire popped on the freeway at around 5 am. I pulled over and began looking for rooms near me & this was the closest hotel, which was 37 minutes away from me. I called the hotel in advance to see if they had any rooms available that they had a couple that were ready for me to check into. I hung up and was grateful , & immediately booked a room while I waited for the tow truck. My tow took over an hour to come, but once it did I immediately made my way over to the hotel. Finally At the desk, I talk to Debbie, who I spoke to over the phone. I said hey I’m here to check in , I had called you a minute ago. Debbie says , oh that was a long time ago. Mind you , it is almost 7 am when I arrived at the hotel . Debbie continues telling me that she talked to me “so long ago” as if it was days or weeks ago, not an hour and a half ago... and that she has no rooms available now. She insists that she gave my room to somebody else and now I need to check in at 3 pm. A middle eastern man was working the desk with her and he continued enforcing what she said, come back at 3 pm. I am hot, tired, and irritated because im 8 months pregnant , in the middle of nowhere, and not even supposed to be in North Carolina. My baby shower is tomorrow , so what’s the point of me sleeping in my car from 7 am to 3 pm??? I literally just needed a place to rest my head for a few hours until the tire shops open & I could replace my spare. Anywho , after constant arguing I was finally told by the middle eastern man that they did indeed have a room for us but we would have to be out by checkout time , 11. I was so tired I didn’t care anymore. He gave us a key and we went to the room. First thing I seen was a bug in the bath tub. Then, the tv was broken & wouldn’t play any channels, only static. The mirror right in the hallway had fingerprints and smudges all over it... and the shower handle in the bathtub was broken off. I was so irritated with everything that I just laid on top of all the covers and went to sleep. I didn’t even trust the sheets enough to get under the covers. Will NEVER stay at a red roof inn again in my life... it was very inconsiderate considering I am a huge pregnant lady and I’m so kind, but the kindness was not reciprocated. Disappointing place to call a hotel.

"Should be Condemned!"

2.0

This is by far the worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed in! I was forced to stop during a long road trip because I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I needed a hotel that accepted dogs and this one was the closest. Had I not already paid and been unable to get a refund, I would have gone anywhere else after stepping foot in this hotel. This hotel needs condemned. I have never been somewhere that was so run down in my entire life. It was absolutely disgusting. The first room that I was given was filthy and smelled like cigarette smoke (it was a non-smoking room). There was blood splatter all over the chair in the room. It looked like someone had been beaten in it. I didn’t even hazard setting my bag down. I went to the front desk and got a new room. The second room was marginally better. By better I mean there was no obvious blood splatter in the room. The sheets on the bed were the cleanest times in the room. I didn’t even feel comfortable taking off my shoes. I would never recommend this hotel and looking back, I should have just slept in my car and chalked up paid reservation as a lose. Go anywhere else!
