The Chateau

It was a nice place to stay, able to pickup groceries to save money from always dining out. The property is divided into 3 main areas, which could be better labeled as to know which 1 you are staying at 1 front entrance and 2 rear entrances.

Quiet and safe area. Nice walk relatively close by to Deer Lake. Uber taxi's easy available and $20-$30 to get into Vancouver. Close to public transport if you wanted it.

Expected more of a relaxation area for evening but tele in kitchen with table. Arrival with app as key was a bit confusing - especially if you do not have immediate mobile coverage (lucky enough that wifi reached just outside property). Not all that close to any shops - just about walking distance but uphill walk along main road. Didnt matter to us but both drawers in both rooms dont open (not enough room) !!

The "Superior Suite" is located in the basement, which was nowhere described as such at the time of booking. There is NO LIVING ROOM. The sofa is located in one of the small rooms without a TV. You can't socialize there. Helarious. The kitchen was badly equipped. You sit on cheap chairs, limited space in the kitchen and you will "enjoy" watching the small TV there while somebody is cooking or the washing machine is running. As I said, it's a "Superior Suite" IMPRESSIVE, haha. When you go around the house to find your entrance to the bunker you will pass the trash bins which haven't enough capacity so tash is all around. As a rat, you will feel quite comfortable there. Garden ? Haha. Yes you will pass it but from the bunker it will be visible only with strong imagination. NEVER AGAIN.

It's hard without a rental car.

The location. The top units looked great. We like the view and the front yard of the property.

We stayed at the basement with no air conditioning. We found hairs on the bed and the shower wall. There were stains on the bed cover. Also, the extra toilet papers provided under the sink were soaked with something blue, which we discovered after we returned in the evening. We did not feel that we were alone in the room.

Modern, roomy, comfortable, nice appliances, washer and dryer. Master shower was great, it had a rain shower and three jets that shoot at your body as well as a wand and a feature I have never seen before...it had a sauna/steam feature in the shower.

Fit and finish could be improved in a few places (mold around one baseboard near the shower). Also cleaning was pretty good but we found a few things that could be improved. We could not get the TV to work to watch normal TV.

Clean quiet unit and property. There was no AC but they have multiple fans for use in all the rooms. Was a bit too small without a living room space and only 4 chairs for our family of 6. Limited kitchen utensils and cookware as well.

The accommodation was in the basement and wasn’t stated, check out very early and host were harsh, this is a place for 4 people not 6 as advertised

The place was nice and clean. However, it was quite a tight space. Even with the sheet of instruction, it was hard for us to find the entrance. We requested some items but got no response as it was through Expedia. Our room was near the trash area and trash were full, so there was some smell whenever we walked by, plus some cats attacked the trash can, so trash was flew everywhere. It was cleaned up the next day by the host though. Anyway, it was a good stay, just some minor maintenance issue (TV remote was out of battery, or trash issue). We would recommend the place once these issues are fixed.

Plenty of rooms for kids to play and for family to relax and chit chat. Kitchen facility is awesome. Bed is very comfortable. The whole access process is simple and smooth. A very nice stay and will definately recommended.

The place is perfect if you also rent a car. If not, then it is a bit not convenience in taking public transit.
