AmeriVu Inn-Gilbertsville

Last minute cancelation from the Hotel. They left a short "Sorry cant accomidate you, Have a nice day." They wanted more money. Willing to pay a little more but not how much they wanted. Ripoff hotel. Stay at another hotel. Stop early in Nashville, or drive more to St Louis.

This place is not as advertised, poor conditions, no breakfast. When arriving me and my work crew decided to go down the road to days inn because of how bad this place was. I tried for a refund because i wasn’t canceling the trip but rather i got bat and switched so it should be on the motel and expedia but no avail

There was stains on the bed spread and ashes on th bed. There were roaches in the bathroom

The staff was pretty nice. It seems like they are a bit oblivious to the issues or they are used to the circumstances, but everyone was pleasant. I am sorry to give such a bad review because the staff was very courteous but if I can prevent anyone else from going through that nightmare, I must.

This property is in bad shape. We arrived and most of the place is shut down except 1 building. That one building is infested with roaches, there were holes in the walls and ceiling along with tape on the window! I would not let my dogs stay in that place. The sheets and dust ruffle were dirty (not sure what was on the bedding but the dust ruffle was covered in dead skin and nail clippings! GROSS!! We were booked for several nights but did not/could not stay there at all, not even one night. Also, their "free wifi" is only available on one side of the building so we could not access that even. When staff was alerted to bug issue we were offered a can of bug spray to use because they said the exterminator had sprayed that day which the roaches did not like. Overall, I think the place should be torn down and start again because it is not fit for lodging.

Online info a bit misleading. Suggest you check around. Staff member that checked us in obliged with our request to see a room before committing to stay. Room had a terrible odor from smoking. We found second room we looked at acceptable. Hotel could use a facelift, a bit outdated. Breakfast offerings were minimal

As a fan of classic, pull up and enter from the outside motels, I specifically sought this one out over many others. The newer walk inside, and because-of-insurance-reasons unopenable windows, mainly a USA drawback, just are horrific. Decades of the highest ritzy hotels in 30 countries on the corporate dime, and I prefer the classic motel. Huge window that you pull the curtain over. Step right out. Peaceful lake vicinity location. Really nothing around, so bear that in mind.

Would have preferred a heavy blanket option. I arrived past 2 a.m., and didn't think to ask front desk. So I just wore a sweater. That's doable.
