This place is sketchy. There is rubbish and mattresses laying around outside. Avoid this place.
Non-smoking rooms smelled of cigarettes, including finding cigarette butts in our room under the bed. Older place with wore down accommodations, broken chairs, stain on sheet, ceiling tiles in bathroom were falling down. Ice machine was shut off during a hot weekend. Being on the river was convenient.
It was pretty nice spacious and quiet it’s what we expected
Very nice clean hotel. Manager was very friendly and helpful. Room had covered balcony overlooking Cheboygan River and had a beautiful view. Would recommend.
Happy to stay here overnight while traveling cross country & saving some dollars on hotel costs. Glad our pug could stay. Owner very very helpful in proactively communicating with us & leaving a key in a lock box for us as we were showing up after hours.
This might be a decent place to stay if you fish/boat, but we do not.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. Room wasn’t cleaned, had to go to the desk and ask for clean towels & TP. Bathroom was dirty, very dim lighting & no working fan. The hot water handle just fell off of the sink in my hand & the shower faucet was also broken. AC wouldn’t stay on long enough to cool the room. Soap dispenser in shower was broken, had mold on it & they left one hotel sized bar of soap for 3 guests. Ice machine was broken. Paid for 2 queen bed room got 2 double beds on queen platforms. Docks are in bad shape & are unsafe. Wouldn’t recommend this property.
The patio overlooked the Cheybogan River. with was peaceful and relaxing. Not your cookie-cutter view or atmosphere. It was what to expect on a northern Michigan trip and what we wanted.
The service was super-friendly and excellent. The room was large, with a beautiful view, comfortable, and at a very good price. The decor is slightly dated, but I would return for another stay there if in the area.
