The Victoria Hotel Manchester by Compass Hospitality

My review is to inform the owners of ways that the hotel could be improved and is not a reflection on the staff who were friendly and accommodating. Entrance was just off the motorway and could be signposted better in advance to help make guests aware of its position. Car park has potholes which are dangerous. I witnessed a gentleman stumble as he was engrossed in his mobile, which people tend to no nowadays. Revolving doors did not work. Reception was nice. First room had a noisy fan from the kitchen outside the window which needed to be left open due to outside temperature. Was moved to a second room that had not been cleaned. Third room was nicer at the rear, clean, comfortable and tidy and quiet. Breakfast - I had to ask where that was being served. No orange juice. No porridge. Bacon was good. Hope this helps, rather than being too critical

Spent a lot of money in fixing up reception and restaurant area but rooms up the main stairs are in need of work hallways are horrible as well

Nice clean place with comfotable large beds & friendly staff.

Visiting friends nearby so the location was perfect and provided a comfortable night with a good breakfast, just what we needed. The atmosphere was relaxed and although there was a wedding party there as well staff seemed to be taking it all in their stride. There were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely come again.

Victorian type of property. I did not have chance to move around as my schedule is tight.

It could have been better for the money paid. You can find better hotels

The room was unbearably hot with the window only opening a fraction and no AC. The bed sheets had questionable stains on them too. The toilet took atleast three flushes to flush and the shower didn’t get warm for around 5 minutes. Very dated hotel that could do with a lot of work.

Room was clean & comfortable, though overheated. Pillows not very good but mattress was all right. Toilet & sink were damaged. Good size TV & good to have a cool box. Breakfast was good eventually but chaotic organisation re. set up, seating (impractical) & shortage of staff, & cutlery, no fruit or orange juice available. No self help for coffees & teas. Tables not cleared. Staff there were friendly and helpful.

Wasn't given WiFi code on arrival Wasn't told about time of breakfast Only two towels in room instead of 3 - for 3 guests It was 29 degrees and the towel heater was Bolling hit and wouldn't switch off Arrived for breakfast and not told of the set up Had to ask for eggs and bacon as none left in trays Went to sit in a 6 seater booth as we were meeting other family for breakfadt- told we couldn't sit there as it was reserved for dinner? The style is a mis match of different styles The room we stayed in was tired and basic which reflected in the price.
