The Bodhi Tree Karimunjawa

The staff at this property are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for being able to walk to most of the restaurants in the town and if you hire a scooter you are able to explore the whole island with no troubles. We had an issue with the ferry which the staff kept us updated about throughout the day- which was beyond helpful as we wouldn’t have known what the situation was with it otherwise. The food is also delicious, and worth trying even if you don’t stay.

The women who work on this hostel are super friendly and polite. They prepare a simple but nice breakfast every morning, always with a smile! Apart from that location is absolutely great and perhaps the only downside (at least for me) is the low quality of the bunkbeds Also too many of them concerning the size of the dorm. As a result it's a little bit too crowded. Anyways, taking into account the price I think it's reasonable!

The staff were very friendly. Scooter rental was quick and easy. I believe you can book a snorkelling tour through them, and I also saw that they helped a couple of guests with their return ferry bookings. Good WiFi, and air conditioning in the dorm. Small lockers available. Free tea, coffee and water bottle refill. A hot enough shower with okay pressure (the en suite is cold but has better pressure). Good location. It is fun to sit on a swing while you eat breakfast!

I think the place would benefit from a 'clean up after yourself' policy as there were often no clean mugs or teaspoons in the morning to make coffee and the staff are busy enough as it is. Breakfast was okay but can be a little late if you are an early riser; sometimes I was served at half seven, other times not until half eight (officially breakfast is 8-10). Hot water for drinks is not always readily available early in the morning either. Bit of a niche complaint but the curtains on the dorm beds are so loud—wooden curtain loops would be much quieter on the metal bunk beds.

The best personnel ever! Lovely women who were very helpful with everything. Amazing breakfast! Good location.

Bathroom was a bit too simple/non functional. No place to put your stuf, no warm water in the en-suite bathroom. Curtains on the beds barely worked, could use a refresher.

The staff here are amazing, felt like friends. So genuinely friendly & helpful. Location is perfect, can walk everywhere in town including local fish market for dinner. Decor is funky & cool.

My bathroom wasn’t as clean as I would have liked and bed & bedding wasn’t amazing, but for the price it was acceptable. Everything else made up for it and I would still stay here again.
