I think there should be a carpenters hotel and major city in US. I love the layout with the restaurant bar and coffee shop and then hotel separately.

Design and layout and detailing throughout. A really tranquil setting.

Unable to order on the app from poolside as didn’t have a US phone number. Also felt a little overrun with non-residents.

I have not stayed at any other hotels in Austin, but after staying at the Carpenter Hotel, I would not want to stay anywhere else. If we visit Austin again in the future, I would plan to return to the Carpenter. The location is ideal, the room was cozy, the customer service was warm, the housekeeping team was strong, and the restaurant was excellent. (We had the good fortune of staying for a week during New Year celebrations, and the NYE dinner was beyond excellent -- I was delighted that the restaurant offered a fantastic prix fixe dinner that night.) Every amenity was on point. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Really fun, tasteful, a good value. If I had a dog, I would bring my dog, because it's dog-friendly. We were amazingly close to cool shops, restaurants, and parks, a quick walk to downtown, and the cafe was good. (We were able to see the NYE fireworks show from our balcony!) Even the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were so good that I didn't even use my own fancy toiletries that I brought, and that is Never the case! I cannot say enough good things about the experience at the Carpenter Hotel. 11/10.

The bed is about 12" above the concrete floor. Not easy to get out of for healthy adults, I would hate to have mobility issues and try to get on my feet. The decor is concrete, brick and steel, it felt more like a parking garage than a hotel. They charged more for parking than was disclosed; beware parking is NOT free and we were charged $25. Another charge was added for "Amenity Use", I have no idea what this was.
