The Beyond Villa Guilin Boutique Hotel

It was a quiet, residential area, away from the tourist centre and with lovely views of the mountains. There were some nice neighbourhood restaurants near the inn, within walking distance. The breakfast was quite good especially the chance to try local specialities. The room was clean and the rates were good.

The place did not in any way match the description and photos of it on its website or other online platforms. This is basically a simple B&B, with no on-site restaurant (as advertised), no 'spa bathtub' (as advertised') and no 'buffet breakfast' (as advertised). Our a/c unit didn't work properly, our shower was broken, fittings were incomplete, the beds were hard, and the furniture was tired. They did offer us a second room free of charge because of this, which was helpful, but the second room also had issues - no shower door, or shower rail. The services were very limited, and staff were not always available. We were not offered any of the classes advertised on booking.com (calligraphy, tea, cooking etc).

The charm and the beauty of staying in a real Chinese hotel. Details and design was beautiful. Maria was just the sweetest host, she helped us with everything and felt like being at home. We will definitely come back. Highly recommended.

It's a cosy little B&B type hotel in a quiet neighborhood a 10 min drive away from town. The room was mostly clean, and the host was accommodating. The layout and decor of the room with the tatami mat was very interesting .

The actual room is quite a departure from the pictures online (they look like they were taken some time ago) and there was a lack of certain basic amenities

The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They gave us suggestions in terms of restaurants and sightseeing. Their local breakfast, Guilin rice noodle, was very delicious. Highly recommended! The village is known for their homemade stone-grind tofu. Definitely worth to give it a try.

No elevator.

Beautiful place close to Guilin. It is located in a natural area, that's very close to the reed floote cave. You can reach it walking 15 minutes. The host is a very nice and gentile person. We really recommend to stay at her place if you want to explore the region around Guilin. Thank you again!

Everything, the staff were very nice and everything was clean

- There were animal sounds in the night and sometimes it was annoying and disturbed the sleep.

The whole place feels homey, comfortable, and elegantly decorated; spaces are well-appointed and facilities are sufficiently available. It gives us a sense of place, a taste of China and its culture.

This was a comfortable place to stay while in Guilin. It’s located in a quiet, charming little residential area with some restaurants and a couple of little shops to buy water or snacks. It gives you a peak into everyday life of the Chinese in that area. My daughter and I loved it. Maria was a generous host, taking time out her evening to teach us Chinese calligraphy. She also treated us to tea and provided a special gift for my daughter during our stay. She was as an exceptional host that really looked after us during our stay. We got to choose from three breakfasts, which were ready for us the next morning at the time we requested. The breakfasts were delicious and substantial, we looked forward to them. It really was a miracle we came upon this hotel and could stay there. I absolutely recommend it!

We had a great time in Beyond Villa Guilin. The whole staff is very helpful and always available. They helped us find a great river cruise and told us how to walk to the Reed Flute Cave, both of which are well worth it. It's in a cute village with good places to eat (one restaurant accepts Visa). The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are fantastic and very healthy.
