Kanazawa Machiya Kenroku

The location in relation to the train station is very good, only a short walk. The interior is very well appointed, underfloor heating. Very clean bedding

However, the house is on a very busy road and the noise in the morning was pretty loud.

Charming Host, great authentic home experience, located close to the subway. Worth every Yen!

Steeped in History and extremely welcoming and knowledgeable host, Hitty who gave us presents and spent a lot of time explaining the history of his Machiya.

It might have been a little cramped in the sleeping quarters especially with luggage.

Hitty was a great host and gave us a great tour of the house. The facilities were great, especially the laundry, bathroom and the thick futons. Lots of personal touches in the house, like the ikebana Hitty's wife had made and the fresh sweets which made our stay extra special. Staying at this machiya was certainly one of the highlights of our trip!

The upstairs creaking was a little scary at night, as was the steep ladder to the attic but both are fine if you're careful.

La maison est incroyable ! On avait vraiment pas envie de partir et on a reçu un accueil très chaleureux. On reviendra dans la machiya pour passer plus de temps à Kanasawa.

This place was incredible! The host hitty was the best, nicest human being ever! The house is like living in a piece of history. We were given a tour which was amazing. Would love to stay here again and again!

The property is a beautiful historic Japanese inn conveniently located close to the Kanazawa Station. It was clean with excellent facilities. The property was beautifully decorated. The host was extremely generous with his time, sharing his family samurai history, and showing us around the property and assisting us with our time in Kanazawa. We would highly recommend this property to visitors to Kanazawa.

Staying at Kanazawa Machiya Kenroku was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The home is a short walk from the train station and we were met by Hitty on arrival. Hitty is such a generous and gracious host! He showed us the home and took the time to tell us about the history of the house and his family. It felt like an honour to be staying in such a beautiful place with so much history. I wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Hitty, I hope we will come back one day!

We had a wonderful time in Kanazawa. We loved the experience to stay at a Samurai house. Hitty is a fantastic snd very generous host. He took the time to explain about the house and his ancestors. Thank you again!
