Clearwater Beach Marriott Resort on Sand Key

The best hotel in Clearwater! I've been coming to this hotel for 20 plus years and it's amazing everytime. All the staff are so nice. Meli, our house keeper was so friendly, funny, and always made sure our room was comfy and well kept. Jason the server outside by the pool was outstanding and quickly became our friend. We just dont have enough good things to say about the whole place. We will come back again and again! Thank you for another wonderful vacation Marriott!

Stayed at the Marriott Sand Key for the 4th time only to find the stay disappointing. The one bright spot was our waitress at breakfast both days. She was spot on and remembered our breakfast orders. I wish I caught her name. There was an issue with our toliet that even after it was repaired still did not flush properly. When I let the front desk know when I checked out the clerk didn’t seem to really care and didn’t even offer me a “I’m sorry” with my departure. The service at the pool bar was slow to nonexistent at times. The tables around the bar were dirty and not cleaned off from prior diners. In fairness to the server it looked like she was the only one waiting tables at 5 pm on Saturday. With prior stays there were always servers circling the pool asking if we needed anything. Not this stay. You had to search out someone or go to the bar. The pool water appeared dirty on Friday and was the same on Saturday. Not sure if there was an issue with the filter but the water didn’t seem very clean and the sides of the pool need to be scrubbed and cleaned. It was a little embarrassing because we invited another couple from out of town to join us and we had raved about this hotel to our friends several times. Not a hotel issue but the hotel and pool seemed to be inundated with children under 6. What was scary is that there were times that these children appeared to be unaccompanied by their parents and were floating with arm flotation devices by themselves. Between the screaming and the balls being thrown around the pool it was hard to get a comfortable spot where you weren’t being hit with a ball or having a kid jump over your head. Other hotels and cruise lines have designated areas for children in pools. Maybe Marriott Sand Key should try doing the same. We probably won’t return after this expensive marginal stay.

We recently stayed at the Marriott Clearwater Beach Sand Key, and our experience was outstanding from beginning to end. What truly made our stay special was the exceptional staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and valued. A special thank you to Ruth at check-in. She greeted us with a warm smile, made us feel immediately welcome, and was incredibly helpful throughout the check-in process. Kerri, our pool server, was absolutely wonderful. She consistently checked on us, made sure we had everything we needed, remembered who we were and even our favorite drinks. Her friendly personality and attentive service made our pool days even more enjoyable. At breakfast, Erik provided outstanding service. He was friendly, courteous, and fun to talk with every morning. He also shared excellent recommendations for local restaurants and shopping, which helped us make the most of our vacation. A big thank you to Rick, the evening bartender. He always remembered our drinks, greeted us warmly, and made every visit to the bar a fun and enjoyable experience. Kelly, one of the breakfast servers, was simply amazing. She was sweet, kind, and always greeted us with a big smile. She made us feel like family and started each day on a positive note. We would also like to recognize the wonderful hostess who greeted us each morning and seated us for breakfast. Her friendly attitude and welcoming smile set the tone for a great dining experience every day. Finally, Lauren Rice at the front desk was fantastic. She took the time to explain our bill, helped us understand all the charges, answered our questions, and always asked if there was anything else she could do for us. Her professionalism and dedication to excellent customer service were truly appreciated. The hotel itself is beautiful, but it is the people who work here that make it exceptional. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making our stay memorable. We highly recommend the Marriott Clearwater Beach Sand Key and look forward to returning in the future!
