Motel 6 Charlotte, NC – Airport South

The hotel was conveniently located but we weren't happy with the service and condition. We had to ask repeatedly for towels and wash clothes. We had only 1 wash cloth for 4 people and were told they had no more. Breakfast wasn't much and the room smelled like cigarettes and we asked for non smoking.

This is a very old building. The furniture was nice. The bed was fantastic! The variety of TV channels was poor (i.e. news, sports & Spanish). The remote control was difficult, e.g. had to push buttons exactly right to work. The hotel advertised black out curtains, which is very important to me. The curtains were black out but didn't close all the way and still allowed sunlight in on each side. The primary reason I'm giving this stay a 😕 is because I found 2 baby cockroaches in the room during my stay. There was a customer at the front desk when I checked out so I chose not to discuss the cockroaches at that time. I stayed in Room 337. Staff were excellent!

This property was in disrepair. The carpet was torn on the elevator and the room. A trip hazard. Room was not cleaned during my stay.

I didn’t like the fact that there were people hanging out all times of the night

After booking this property over the phone with an expedia agent I was told that they had a free 24/7 airport shuttle with the option of paying 4$ a day for parking. Once I arrived to check in, I was made aware that their airport shuttle started at 6am so that would not accommodate my 5am flight. I ended up driving to the airport and paying their daily cost for long term parking. I'm upset that i was lied to about the number 1 amenity I was in search of.

I was amazed at the quality of service, building and breakfast for a lower range priced hotel. We were just looking for somewhere to crash halfway home from visiting family. Turned out to be lovely, granite walls in the bathroom, luxury quality bedding, great air conditioning and fast elevator. The neighborhood seemed a little scetchy when we first arrived but in the morning we saw it was just around the corner from a group of high end hotels. I loved that they had real sausage gravy and biscuits. The lobby is lovely as well!

I really enjoy my stay. The room was clean and very close to my destination. Both receptionists were very friendly and helpful

It was amazing and interesting

Front desk was too busy on her phone to even greet us. Didn’t tell us about any amenities. We went to go to our room and the stairwell was locked. She didn’t tell us that. When we finally got to our room it had someone else’s stuff in it. We ended up staying somewhere else

This property was seedy at best, I was created by what learned were workers smoking by the entry in the middle of the day. My room reeked of cigarettes and marijuana. The neighbors stood outside of my hotel room window smoking every 15 mins with her husband. Staff were circling the building, people were working on their cars in the lot, it looked as if there was a lot of illegal activities going on. I left immediately, within 1 hour of checking in. Run don’t walk, cheap but not worth it.
